Hey All -

First and foremost, I want to take this window of opportunity to wish you and yours a happy, healthy July, as summer draws us inward. Secondly, I *just* bought tix to I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE for the 23rd. I wanted to catch it before this long-running show closed on the 27th. I was wondering, for those who've seen the show previously, what can I expect from the piece? I've heard bits and pieces of the cast recording thanks to XM Radio and the clips on their website. Having never been to the Westside Theatre beforehand, I'm also wondering how my seats will be. I booked Row B / 105-106. Is the stage high over there? Any and all input appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

Best,
- Mike Love / Perfect / Change

LimelightMike, you are persistent!

I would help you if I could, but I'm wondering about the show myself. I've heard mixed things about it.

I personally am in love with this show. I've seen it several times.

Like on of the reviews says, it's like Seinfeld set to music. It's hilariously funny, and isn't very sappy, except at the end, during the song "Shouldn't I Be Less In Love With You?"

If you enjoy any type of romantic chick-flick like comedies, then you'll love this show.

My mom's favorite show. She has seen it over 20 times (different productions). It's a great show--very funny and has some great songs in it. Depends on the cast on whether or not it will be an enjoyable experience. When I saw it a few years ago off Broadway, the older man had been with the show for SO long and it was obvious that he was VERY tired of it. Everyone else was wonderful! With the show being so close to closing, I'm sure the cast will be great. Enjoy the show and let us know how it is!! :)

It's a series of incredibly funny stand-alone songs about relationships, starting with the first date and going through marriage and beyond. I really enjoyed it.

As the songs are all stand-alone, though, there is no plot to speak of.

I'd never call it a "favorite" show of MINE, as it's really just a series of "semi-related" skits, each with a mediocre song attached.

An enjoyable night out at the theater, and perfect summer "forgettable fluff".

The key is having a very strong cast of 4, with good singing ability and comic timing. Without that, the show could be painful, as many community theater productions are.

Why don't you ask these questions before you buy the tickets? I mean, what would happen if someone told you that yes, the stage was unreasonably high, and yes, your view was going to be terrible, but you had already purchased the tickets and couldn't change your mind?
