Fear no more the heat o' the sun, Nor the furious winter's rages; Thou thy worldly task hast done, Home art gone and ta'en thy wages: Golden lads and girls all must, As chimney-sweepers, come to dust. ~Cymbeline

Being a bit more serious, you should look to the Golden Age. My niece LOVES 'Edelweiss', and many of the songs from 'Oliver!' would be good. You could get them to insert their own favourites into 'Food, Glorious Food' or something?

What would suggestions be for 5 & 6 year olds? We are having a trip 1 week during camp to the TADA childrens theater and I am planning on making puppets with them that week but, what songs would be appropriate to teach kids who are so young? I am thinking possibly Tomorrow from Annie ? :)

Not totally Broadway, but "Good Morning" from Singin' In The Rain went over really well with my little kids back in the day (minus insane tap break, obviously). The tune and the lyrics are really simple, and catchy. We used it as a warm up more than anything else.

Also OKLAHOMA! was really fun. There's that whole spelling finale at the end, which usually results in kids dissolving into giggles as they mess it up, but another easy tune with some simple solos and an easy chorus. Just a thought. And "101 Pounds of Fun" from SP (gag me, but meh, it works with kids).

"It could be worse. You could have majored in TECH theater...then you'd really be poor."

Be deviant; sneak some 'La Cage' in. We did 'The Best Of Times' during a pantomime once when I was much younger. ^_^

Amneris, Do Re Mi or many other R&H songs would be appropriate. R&H was my first introduction to musicals and I was younger than 5 when I was learning those songs. Do Re Mi is also in a lot of childrens' music books. I recall my sister having a toy piano with a songbook and Do Re Mi was one of the songs. Also, when I was little I had a record (yes a RECORD) called "Bob Sings". It was Bob from Sesame Street singing and several of the songs were Broadway. Do Re Mi, Getting To Know You, I Whistle a Happy Tune, Good Morning, Starshine, and Edlweiss.

Another Good one is "Heart" from Damn Yankees. That, along wuth I Whistle a Happy Tune, and Getting to Know You might be ideal because not only are they "easy" but they have good messages.

"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
