I doubt it...he can barely make a passable film nowadays (save for the magnificent Match Point). Broadway seems a little improbable at this point in his career.

I heard Bullets Over Broadway had been in development as a musical with Allen co-writing the book.
"A birdcage I plan to hang. I'll get to that someday. A birdcage for a bird who flew away...Around the world."
"Life is a cabaret old chum, only a cabaret old chum, and I love a cabaret!"-RIP Natasha Richardson-I was honored to have witnessed her performance as Sally Bowles.
I absolutely HATED MATCH POINT and so did the seven people that I went to see it with. After the film we all went out to dinner and went on for HOURS about how awful it was.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Match Point was brilliant! It was critically lauded so CapnHook I am going to have to disagree with you and your 7 friends(which obviously make up the general movie viewing public)

Reviews and the like
I agree with the sentiments that Match Point was brilliant. I don't purchase DVD's all that often, but I definitely purchased that one as soon as it came out.
Now Anything Else...that is another story altogether. I barely made it through that.
Manhattan Murder Mystery will always be one of absolute favorites of his...and I have seen them all thanks to an independent study I did back in college.
I didn't care for 'Match Point'. They kept paying lip service to the Alan Sinclair character, but we only saw the back of his head in one scene. What a waste.
I would love to see Bullets on stage too. It is one of those films where I never stop laughing...and I still find myself quoting it in everyday conversation quite often. It is, IMHO, one of Allen's best films. And, I think it would translate to the stage very well as long as the casting is as spot-on as it was for the film.
BULLETS: That cast is BEYOND brilliant--Wiest gives one of the flawless screen performances, Tracey and Jennifer are right on her tail and the rest is also top-notch.
MURDER MYSTERY: One of Woody's underrated gems...SUPER funny and a quasi-sequel to ANNIE HALL.
SCOOP: If you like Woody HIMSELF, you'll love this!
