Broadway's latest musical, barely one week old, has closed after just 'ONE' performance!
'Glory Days' has closed at Circle In The Square.

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Shame some West End producers cant make decisions like this and close a show that as every minute goes by gets more and more of a laughing stock!!!
'Glory Days' got just as slatted as 'Gone With The Wind'- I'm even sure i read better reviews for it than those for 'Gone With The Wind'!

I actually feel bad for Glory Days, i watched about 40 mins which was available on dvd from its out of town at the Signature and it looked OK, you could tell the young writers had potential and a lot of passion. It didnt belong on Broadway and the producer who has moved it there should be shot, it was much more an Off Broadway show.

At least Glory Days was mildly interesting for being a show from very young writers with a contemporary score (not that it was particularly great, from the Myspace demos, but it wasn't bad).

For some reason I found the show infinitely more interesting than Marguerite, the first preview of which is tonight...

Of course I didn't see Glory Days never caught it in previews and can't see it now. But, I am sad to see it go.

From what I have read I got the impression that the writers had a lot of potential. But, that this show wasn't cut out for Broadway. I do think that it would have been better in an Off Broadway venue first.

But, keep in mind one thing. If your a young writer of a musical I don't think that you would turn down the chance if given to have your work on Broadway. Even if it might not be ready for it yet.

I wish you hadnt listened to it and just seen it in the theatre - somehow i think you then would have liked it a whole lot more! When's your next visit to the Big apple? Do give it ago! (what have you got-DVD or just CD?) I understand why you may say that but its an experience in the theatre live- Faith Prince -wow!
Hey! at least its still open after 2 weeks and seems to be doing rather well 82% last week! I will 100% go again when next over there!

yeah just the CD, i thought Faith was breathtaking, though ive always liked her, i just thought the music was a bit bland, the critics didnt seem over the moon with it either which is a shame as it was one i was looking forward to

Im in NY just after the Tonys so if its still open i will give it a go
