I won two weeks ago on a saturday, but there were about 35 - 40 people. I think they called 12 or 14 names, each for two tickets. The lotto was front row, so you could check out the seating chart to find out.
I tried it last week and there were around 50 people. I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

Every day is different. It'll vary from one performance to another. No weekend will ever be the same. Wednesday matinee is probably the best just because I'd imagine people would be at work. It's all a gamble... just go and cross your fingers.
I wonder why they don't do standing room. The view would have been horrible for Tarzan (so I understand why they didn't do it then) but it wasn't bad for Cyrano.

Bumping this thread to get more recent perspectives on the In the Heights lotto and SRO.
How many people generally show up on a Friday evening for the lotto?
According to grosses, In the Heights has recently sold out or come close to selling out performances. If I don't win the lotto, can I expect to snag a SRO ticket?
Wow! I've only heard of 30-45 people. Do you know standing room only is? The last time I was in NYC, I saw Les Mis and picked up a SRO ticket 10 minutes before curtain.
According to playbill.com, In the Heights has SRO and this is their policy: "Standing Room: $21.50 - available at the box office only when the performance is sold out."
I know it's supposed to be only when the performance sells out. Two years ago I saw Les Mis three times with SRO tickets. I was able to get them 10 minutes before curtain and the show was never sold out. I don't know if that's the norm for SRO or not.
i have tried for ith lottery twice and i lost both times and both times they had standing room. the view isnt amazing because of the overhang of the balcony but its better then nothing! lol. both times i went on a saturday night tho usually i would expect friday/saturday night shows to be sold out.
what if susan blackwell hung out with boq, trekkie monster, the SOL soloist#2, and the piragua guy on a daily basis?
I was there yesterday for the matinee and there were probably 100-125 people.
Yeah, the matinee on Saturday was really crowded. They sold $66.50 (I think) partial view seats for people who didn't win.
