We had the LPs of Camelot, My Fair Lady and Annie, plus a few other golden age shows.
The first cassette of a Broadway cast recording I ever purchased was A CHORUS LINE. Ditto for my first cd (cast recording or otherwise). Somehow my parents didn't object to me listening to Ritchie's section of the Montage, or Dance Ten: Looks Three...
I wore out my ACL cd and had to replace it...but by that time, I replaced it with the remastered edition.
I also "wore out" my Sweeney Todd OBC cd and had to replace that one too. Now that I'm an adult, I take much better care of my cast recordings!

Posted: 3/21/08 at 10:03pmwhen i was like 7 or 8 my great grandmother gave the OBC to Annie and I wore that CD out. It was my first CD (as CDs were brand new back then) and my first OBC recording. She knew I loved the movie and watched it all the time so just as an "i love you and miss you" present she sent me the CD :)

I just directed a production right before my 21st birthday. It truly was a full-circle, extraordinary feeling as I prepare for graduation of my undergraduate experience.

First OBC that I paid for: *snickers* I love iTunes and the library =)

The first one I received was Sweeney Todd (though I really just stole it from my sister).
The first one I bought was Wicked.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
