It's weird. One day they're showing promos all over the television, and then the next day it's as if the show was never planning on coming to Alabama. What happened? Does anyone have any insider information? I was so looking forward to seeing the show. I was planning on going multiple times, but now I'm stuck doing nothing all week. I guess I can go to Atlanta to see the show, but it just doesn't seem worth it.

They probably weren't selling enough tickets to justify doing the show. If they don't sell enough tickets to cover the running cost of the show and the fee to the venue then there is no reason to open the show.

That's too bad.

I hope you get to see it somewhere, RentBoy.

It will most definitely be worth the trip if you travel a bit to see it. It's a very memorable show.

So are they doing a hold over in Cincinnati or are they just scraping that week and going shopping? I'm sorry too Rentboy. Can you see it in Georgia or Florida instead?

It's definitely a lot of fun.

I was just checking that in Ohio and saw it was really booked. I guess they went shopping. I'm sorry to read that because they had no other stops near Miss. or Ark. I'm just sorry for those who were really looking forward to this.

According to insider actors, there was a scheduling conflict within the Birmingham theatre. They are selling very well and the tour is recouping mega bucks, as the actors are getting money in their bonus pools.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't poor ticket sales because we've gotten some HORRIBLE shows here latley. Oh well, I guess I'll make the trip to ATL in January to see it with Christmas money. It would be a fun little trip anyways. I was really looking forward to seeing it multiple times within the week though. This is the only show I've managed to not listen to the Cast Recording because I wanted the jokes and the music to be fresh when I eventually see it.

We just had Stomp here - it just ended on Sunday, so I guess maybe The Drowsy Chaperone didn't have enough time to load into the theatre? It sort of pisses me off because we have a beautiful old theatre called "The Alabama," but none of the touring shows use it. Instead they use the God-awful concert hall at the civic center. Here's a link and here's a pic or two - not sure if they'll work. I saw Atlarz Boyz at the Alabama and it was great.

Rentboy, that is a beautiful Theatre. I know it hurts when such great works of art just stand around. Maybe they will be able to rebook Alabama later. It would have added a little cheer to your Holiday Season.

Thanks giddyup for that news. I love hearing good things about the show. It really does deserve it. I am so happy for your friend too! If only New York had Florida weather. At least you will be able to see it in Atlanta so I feel better now.

It would be very worth it to drive to Atlanta to see it! I just saw it in Cincy and loved it!

I think I will. Seems like a good weekend ecursion. Any other good theatre going on in ATL in January?
