Can't seem to find the original thread.
Anyhow I just got home and GONE WITH THE WIND is on so once again TCM is fabulous!

PS - If anyone finds the original TCM Love Thread would you please bump it (with a trumpet)?

I just watched THE LETTER for the first time in years. Wonderful.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Something is very wrong here.
No one watched and discussed "I Could Go On Singing"?
I had to get back to work. Did everyone else have to get back to work?

Saw some of "Boy's Town" before I fell asleep.
Woke up for "A Child is Waiting" (Thank God!) and also watched "Mr. Skeffington".

Couldn't get much better than that!

Didn't watch, Glebby. I tuned in to a bit of The Wizard of Oz on TNT, because I now get the channel in HD. Hadn't seen "Oz" in hi-def before, so I wanted to check it out. It looked FAB, but I was noticing too many seams and creases in the backdrops, and in the makeup on the Witch, Tinman & Lion. It bordered on "too much information," but that's okay. I enjoyed seeing it so crystal clear. It's coming out on Blu-ray and HD DVD sometime next year.

I have "Boys Town," "Mr. Skeffington" and "I Could Go On Singing" on DVD already... so I watch them at my own convenience.

If I'm not more frugal, I'll be my own TCM by the holidays!

Thanks for posting Best12!
I had just about givin up on BWW!

I own a lot of the movies too but I really enjoy being surprised by what's on. I love knowing that others are watching at the same time.

I didn't get to see OZ because I was in the theatre. It made me so mad when AndyHardy texted me to tell me it was on. But watching my new company is fun too!

Except for a company party tomorrow, I have the next two days off!
Fingers crossed that TCM comes through for me.

Tonight TCM's guest host is Atlon Brown from the Food Network's "Good Eats."

An interesting line-up too:

What's Up, Tiger Lily?
Closely Watched Trains
Point Blank
Blow-Up

And Glebby---Swing Time is coming up next (after a one-reel wonder)!

Also Sleeper, Mr. Holland's Opus, Spellbound and To Catch A Thief.

Then the Alton Brown stuff.

I dunno, Glebby. It's a little off-the-beaten-path for you (I'm humbly assuming). They're good films, but I'm not sure they're your cup of tea, in other words. It's a ride through "'60s Fringe Movies."

Why don't you take a peek at each and see what you think? I'd love to see if you like them.

What's Up, Tiger Lily is a strange one that you'll either find terribly funny, terribly offensive, or a one-joke movie that gets boring really fast. In its day, it was considered an underground comedy gem.

Closely Watched Trains won a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in the '60s.

Blow-Up is classic Antonioni.

And Point Blank is an action movie by John Boorman (Yay! Exorcist II!!!) that I've never seen, but is considered to be very good. Not my genre though. It's got Lee Marvin in it, and Angie Dickinson.
