Why is there this glossy image to them...as if they are in a dream? Someone forget to tell them, that they were taping and white blinds the camera (hehehe)
It sounds like they off a bit...but sure looks damn good and so does Mr. Ellis!
The new orchestrations are amazing...sounds like there is more jazz to it!
"In the U.S.A.
You can have your say,
You can set you goals
And seize the day,
You've been given the freedom
To work your way
To the head of the line-
To the head of the line!"
---Stephen Sondheim
Michael- So amazing! I wish I could hear him sing Big Doll House - I imagine he shines during that song.
Mel Smith- Sounds great too! Has this Jimmy Durante quality to his voice.
The Exit Music- during the Montage... HEAVEN!
Marc- The Dynamites "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" right before Edna emerges: I love the change there! It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
DrTheatre - there does seem to be a filter on the lens diffusing the light.
"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
An Edna that can really sing. I can not stop playing Big, Blonde and Beautiful. It is...beautiful. He has truly embraced this role, and I really hope he comes over here at some point. This is the one thing that could get me to see Hairspray again.
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail
-Into the Fire
Scarlet Pimpernel
Great clips but that is the skinniest Tracy I've seen... I like my Tracies to be big, plumb, and beautiful. This Tracy--blanking out on her name--only fits the last.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Well since they have been exchanging casts in Les Miz and Spamalot, this exchange would be most welcome. Michael Ball seems to have really taken charge of Edna and Leanne is really fantastic.. Hope they bring this cast over
Why does the actress have to obese for you to think she looks good for the part of Tracy? Leeanne Jones is smaller than most yes, but she's still bigger than the rest of the girls in the company so she looks the part. By the way she has a partial 'fat suite' on also!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
I really enjoyed them, Michael Ball seems to really make Edna his own, and I like Leanne's voice. I agree with all who hope they cast swap and bring them over here... I'd go to see it in a heartbeat.
Congratulations Leanne! Continued Success - and get us a London Cast Recording.
:)

Oh Leeanne im so sorry! I was going on 'falsie' in formation. I saw the show at the open dress and it is stunning and im sure its tightened up even more since then. You must be on cloud nine darling and you deserve to be up there forever. Youve done the Brits proud. How long do think you'll stay with the show? And the ALL important question if youve read the West End board- whats the news on a CD??? Well done again X

It is a truly perfect reproduction of the Broadway version, but on the video I have seen one thing is missing, the excitement. The sining is great, the dancing is spot on. There is no way you could spot the show as British until you listen to the actual songs, not the accents, not the words, but he songs. Where is the joi de vivre? Where is the passion? Granted, this is a bunch of mostly rehearsal reels, but I hope they pump up the joy a bit.
You have no idea! How can you make a comment like that , as you said just by watching a small video screen. The theatre is full of excitement every second. What do you mean 'until you listen to the songs??? I must say their is a lot more joi de vivre at the Shaftesbury than when i saw the NJ production in its second week. Dont get me wrong, i was totally blown away by the NY show.I find this a very strange post by someone who hasnt seen the show! 'Pump up the joy a bit' Come on!!! Read the reviews before decide to delete your post. Your the only person on either the Broadway or West End board to put anything negative into whats been a very positive production.

This show rocks the Shaftesbury awake from a very deep sleep. The production is truly stunning and the cast sensational. The whole theatre was literally on it's feet at the end. We were was feeling the joy believe me :)
I didn't take it personally, don't worry wickedboy2!! I think its funny, its lovely to be being called too skinny!! I have dropped more weight though, and my skirts are getting baggier, but they're not worried, and neither am i, I'll keep you posted! And the CD, there's a lot of hype, and we all want one! So fingers crossed....it may happen....X
I didn't realize there was an Internet connection up in the nun's tower all actresses playing Tracy Turnblad are forced to live in to insure perfect attendance!!
You were brilliant tonight, as you are every night.
