Not pointing the conversation in one way or another, but just wondering what your thoughts would be. So many people say they wouldn't but then would.

Were Yul Brynner and Rita Moreno in "yellowface" in the movie if THE KING AND I?

What about Alfred Drake, Joan Deiner and Doretta Morrow as Arabs in KISMET?

What about Carol Lawrence or Natalie Wood in WEST SIDE STORY?

Speaking of Juanita Hall anyone know why Roger's asked that she be dubbed in the movie considering she played the role live before being cast in the movie?
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

I already have. I was asked by the director if I would have any problem doing so and I honestly didn't. We had no black students and as long as I can bring a sense of respect and faithfulness to the role, why shouldn't I play it? It isn't like I was made to parody them or disrespect them. I considered it like any other role back then, but looking on it now, I see that it really was something significant to me.

i went to an all white private school so we had to do blackface when we did "Raisin in the Sun" and "for colored girls..." and "Fences" - it worked.
