From the outside I thought The Wynn suggested a giant Bose radio.

Did you see La Reve? It's been interesting to read about the constant tinkering with the show.

Saw La Reve & liked it better than O . La Reve is like an Esther Williams water ballet on steroids. A woman at the pool the day we saw it said all there were in the show were buff male bodies. Mrs R said what was wrong with that? There are also women in the cast but the theater is not huge like O so it is more intimate. The cast comes from various parts of the auditorium so we saw one guy whose costume made him look like he had breasts.

The Wynn is building another resort (about 12 stories smaller) right next to it . It is being called Encore. No great loss but the Frontier across the street is closed & is awaiting demolition .

The Hotel is flat out georgeous. Everything you could ever want is there. We got comped almost 1/2 our meals at their buffett which is out of this world. They have alaskan king crab legs that were like legs on a Rockette dancer - they went on forver. There were many foreign tourists there due, in large part, to the status of the dollar. You play their slots & the points are very easy to earn- we were playing penny slots of which there are a ton. The last day, after checking out & awaiting our trip to the airport Mrs R won $ 600 playing a penny slot machine that seemed to be out of the Twilight Zone as it did not want to stop paying out. She had to stop as we had to make our flight

While walking in The Esplanade (shops) I actually met Steve Wynn. I kick myself I did not get a picture. He was very friendly to my wife & I. I feel sorry as here is a guy who has money he has not even counted & he is blind. He seemed quite happy

Fremont Street has really gone downhill & avoid it at all costs. Back to the Hotel - we were on the 57 th floor (out of 60) We faced the strip & the view (floor to ceiling) was breathtaking . You come in at night, push a button & the curtains open to reveal the strip. The pools are magnificent as well. We can not wait to go to Encore in 2009. We went to the last pool the first day & was told no pictures. I wondered why until I saw a few women topless . It was a topless pool so I felt at home as I was topless also.

Do not forget to see the nightly shows on their Lake Of Dreams outside the Parasol bar. They are very brief but good .

On 8/15, for my birthday, Mrs R treated me to a dinner at The Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris. The hotel has gotten really touristy but the restaurant was great. We did a seven course sampler menu with matching wine tastings. A truly unforgettable experience with an equally unforgettable view

It's Vegas, though, it's inherently touristy.

You really like La Reve better than O? Because I fricking WORSHIPPED "O." Now you're making me want to go back even before Bette Midler opens.

O was big & was good but La Reve actually tried (& succeeded) in telling a story. We found it more entertaining than O & would see it again

Hint - get the next to last row & you see perfectly & do not pay full price

Vegas is touristy but going to the Eiffel Tower restaurant makes you feel like you are in another world. When we go back to Paris, we will go to the real thing - the Jules Verne Restaurant in the real Eiffel Tower

A footnote was Linda Eder was at one of the minor casino - The Orleans I believe & the low price was $ 20 I think. She needs a new manager

That sounds about right for Linda, in my opinion.

In a few years she'll be appearing for free in the lounges. During the day.

By the way. when in Vegas, stop by the Trop for the Titanic artifact exhibit.

Well worth the time & money. Very well done.

We got to see the Titanic Exhibit when it was in Tampa a few years ago, like Mr R said, it is well worth the money.

The Wynn is beautiful. We went by it yesterday. Didn't get to spend too much time, but I love the outside ambiance it's got going on.

The cab drivers were telling us about all the new resorts opening up. Come 2009 - 2010, LV is going to look so different.
