Frank Langella in Frost/Nixon.

If Tom DeLay is The Hammer, then I proclaim a new title for the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi: The Briber. Nancy Pelosi had to bribe her members with spinach to get their votes.

"2. Patti Lupone- Gypsy"
"*Lea Salonga-Les Mis(Fantine)"

Jealous and jealous. Missed Gypsy by a couple weeks, and Salonga was out when I saw Les Mis (though the Fantine we had was great).

The only performance I've ever seen where I was truly emotionally affected by it was Eryn Murman as (u/s) Ilse in Spring Awakening. It was the most perfect performance ever.

I'm kind of very limited because I havn't seen all that many shows live (and REALLY not many with truly stand out, exceptional performances), but:

Raul Esparza- Company
John Gallagher Jr.- Spring Awakening
Jonathan Groff- Spring Awakening
Brian d'Arcy James- Next to Normal
Aaron Tveit- Next to Normal

Alice Ripley- Next to Normal
Laura Benanti- Wedding Singer (only because I havn't seen her in Gypsy yet haha)
Karmine Alers- Mimi in RENT

the list would be much longer if I could include people who I havn't actually technically seen live, but,you know.. I've *seen* them. haha. But, alas, the question was about people I've actually seen. So that's my list as of now :)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Without a doubt, the best performance I have ever seen was Christine Ebersole in Grey Gardens. No one has been able to top that one.
