thats pretty damn exciting. I'm very happy for her.
Now the discussion can start of what we think will be included on the album. American pop standards or Broadway? If its Broadway, will it include previously sung material by Victoria or all new? hmmm
i thought the same thing, norn! but i think i'd much prefer something less expected and let her use Losing My Mind when she comes back and does Follies on Broadway
Her voice really lends itself to standards and Broadway numbers. I hope she includes "In Buddy's Eyes" more than "Losing My Mind" if she sings a song from FOLLIES. Quite excited about the news.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
"I'm tellin' you, the only times I really feel the presence of God are when I'm having sex and during a great Broadway musical." - Nathan Lane - Jeffrey
Her In Buddy's Eyes I felt was one of the strongest numbers of the night. Listening to some of the recordings made of the concerts, the applause lasted longer for that number than any others of hers. Definitely one of the best actresses we have working consistently today. Hope she comes back to us soon!
Oh my goodness, I had forgotten about the Songbook concert! That was a great night of music. Hopefully she will have some Blumenkrantz on the album; I can't imagine she wouldn't. I can't wait. :o)
