Before you jump down my throat, let me say what I mean ! There was a time when there were all "Wicked" theads on this board and people were screaming and protesting about too many "Wicked" posts. I am in no way a WICKED fan, but what do you say about 19 !!!! threads on the first page about ACL ??? I am sure it's a fantastic and wonderful show, but, come on guys, 19 THREADS on the first page alone ??? Give me a break ! Isn't there anything else on Bway worth talking about ?
No. I might say it was the new Sweeney Todd, as for a while, Sweney was posted about many many times in this board. However, Wicked is annoying because it does not deserve the merit it recieves. Chorus Line and Sweeney do. Plus, they don't have moronic fangirls screaming about Idina's bangs.

I fondly remember that early WICKED era, when it was adults who were weighing in (though admittedly, adult show queens), and the discourse was more critical, if still gaga among some, and less American Idol.
I also remember how FindingNamo introduced CAROLINE OR CHANGE, then at the Publlic, as thinking show queen's aternative. The board exploded. Always an an equal opportunity S.Q, and liked both.
I see the 2006-07 season as the ACL screamers vs. the GG-ites.
Many of the GARDEN folk are older, and probably more prone to weep over the plight of an agoraphboic 56 year old woman than scream for a 20 something who hopes he can get it.

I just went down the first page and WOW. That's a lot of ACL threads. Crazy. But I sure hope it's not the new Wicked.

I see your 19 A Chorus Line threads and raise you the 50 Les Mis threads which will inevitably surface once that show starts...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
I just wish there was ONE "official" review thread for each show and people would just put it in there, instead of everytime an individual sees a show, they have to start a whole new one.

Actually, the 'Wedding Singer' fans have been pretty terrific at mostly containing their thoughts to one thread: 'Love Is What We Do,' started by Thespian Geek. Somehow I don't see that happening with 'A Chorus Line.' But who knows? Updated On: 10/7/06 at 01:55 PM
I fondly remember being at the last night of 'A Chorus Line' here in London many years ago. If it takes up the Broadway board as much as 'Wicked' did - then great. If people like it enough we might get another production here in London.
I have had an early dinner here in London (wonderful Aberdeen Angus steak and some great French grenache noir) listening to the London cast recording of 'Sunday in the Park with George' which has been - well just blissful! 'Sunday' has appeared on another thread as one of Margo's best 'flops'. Its a shame that it can be categorised as a flop - it is wonderful - but cannot seem to do the business to make it as successful as it deserves to be.
If 'Wicked' can - and still does - generate so many threads - well, good for 'Wicked'. I've seen it here in London with various friends - and to a man (and woman) they have leapt to their feet every time that Idina Menzel and Helen Dallimore have taken bows. What's wrong with that? It's a popular show and mostly everyone has a good time and goes home feeling better than when they walked into the theatre. Job done.
Come on 'A Chorus Line' - stir the emotion - and come back across the pond. Love to be exchanging it for our 'Sunday'. Whatever we think; 'Wicked' is going to keep dragging in the audiences for years to come. Lets see if 'A Chorus Line' can strike the same chord in the theatre and on this board.
The reason that there are so many ACL threads on the first page is because Luscious went through and bumped all of them up to the first page last night. If I searched for all the In My Life threads and bumped them up to the first page, it would look pretty dramatic as well, but it wouldn't necessarily mean they're taking over the board.

I think it's just a very exciting thing, to have the show be reopening and with such hype to it. It's got a fantastic cast, and the whole feeling of the show is nothing short of legendary. Sweeney was far from the reputation and renown of this show, as were most revivals in the past five years. The show deserves all the attention it's getting.
Now, what I don't want to see happen is stupidity surround the show, meaning teenage girls posting YouTube videos of them singing "What I Did For Love", or people attempting to dream-cast each and every role in this show. Its popularity is not in vain, and I hope it stays that way.
