The Business of Strangers
Presumed Innocent

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I believe the Breakfast Club has since been turned into a play. Actually, I think I read somewhere that the film was originally rehearsed as if it were a play. It definitely feels like it could be on stage.

"If there is going to be a restoration fee, there should also be a Renaissance fee, a Middle Ages fee and a Dark Ages fee. Someone must have men in the back room making up names, euphemisms for profit." (Emanuel Azenberg)

I second Love Actually.

"People that excel in the arts understand that the journey is the reward...the result an added bonus. Every day I act or train is a blessing and a dream come true. If Broadway beckons so be it. I have a personal definition of success that is unshakable by a possibly unobtainable goal." -HamletWasBipolar

Mona Lisa Smiles

"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott

While watching Hard Candy, I thought about it as a play. I don't think it would work. The thing is so intense that you would probably have to double cast it. I don't think you could make two people go through that twice a day.

The Breakfast Club is a play. I saw a high school production of it, bad language and drugs intact, last year.

Dial M for Murder is a play that they turned into a movie - And then There Were None started out as book, then became a play and then a movie under the title "Ten Little Indians".

I've actually thought Saw would be an intense play.
