I don't think I have ever seen a show that I absolutely hated. Even if I don't like the plot, music or acting, I can find something enjoyable, like the set or even the lighting.
Didn't someone just post this same thread yesterday? I don't believe it went over too terribly well.
"You just can't win. Ever. Look at the bright side, at least you are not stuck in First Wives Club: The Musical. That would really suck. "

Seussical. The first time I saw it though, I had nosebleed seats in the Oakdale Theater (now the Chevrolet) in CT. I haven't been in the balcony a lot, but I remember the one at the Oakdale was pretty far back. And I was in the front row of it too.
So I saw a student production of Seussical. I had front row for that. I enjoyed it better the second time around, but I it remains on my list of least favorite shows.

Musical: The Who's Tommy. Play: The first one that comes to mind is Summer and Smoke. I know all you Tennessee Williams die-hards might kill me, but I thought it was so incredibly boring.
Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are."

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
"Lestat". The absoulute worst show ever. By the way, thanks for starting this thread again. It's always nice to have another opportunity to discuss "Lestat"! :)

Then there are shows that I didn't HATE but have no desire to ever see again:
ASPECTS OF LOVE BY JEEVES CATS FOREVER PLAID THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA RSVP BROADWAY (closed in Toronto without going to Broadway) SONG AND DANCE
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks." Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
RSVP BROADWAY was a silly musical that opened in Toronto a few years ago saying it was heading to Broadway. Never made it there.
Story was set in the early 30s. A gangster/bootlegger in New York decides that with prohibition repealed, he will produce a big Broadway musical starring his girlfriend. Lots of tap dancing but it had a weak story, and highly derivative songs that were neither funny parodies (as in DROWSY CHAPERONE) nor authentic period pastiches.
It was a mess and folded quickly never to be heard from again. (I hope!)

I hated The Phantom of the Opera. The worst 40 bucks I ever spent at TKTS in my life. I hate most of Lloyd Webber's crap, with the exception of Evita, which is sheer brilliance. At least we got one good show out of him.
I know this may sound unreal - but, the first time I saw Les Miz - I found it to be totally boring and awful. I really could not understand how folks could love it so much. Then I saw the 10th Anniv on PBS and realized it might not be that bad - it was the night and the cast that did it in (the Valjean that night was extremely - um - bland). I decided to see it again and thankfully went back when J. Mark McVey was playing Valjean and then I loved it (and him) - It amazed me the difference he made - the rest of the cast even seem to come alive with him as Valjean(guess the correct casting does mean something!
