That's the beauty of this board; I learned a couple of things about Chita today that I didn't know (her work in London). On the other hand, the name calling as a result of having an opinion (pro or con) is absolutely ridiculous.

well said ljay. and as per little jimmyboy there, it is a sore spot to him that an 11 yo little girl is on Broadway and he never got to do anything other than regional theater, maybe!!!!
Chita got her nightclub act started as a result of Bob Fosse's heart attack. She was out of a job since All That Jazz was indefinitetly posponed. Fredd Ebb wrote her an act and they called it Chita Plus Two and also Chita Plus Three. The number depended on how many "boys" she performed with. I saw the act on TV with three men and I saw the act in Puerto Rico at the Caribe Hilton with two male dancers, one of them was Wayne Cilento (1987). The act eventually evolved into Chita and All That Jazz which toured the country and it included 6-7 guys on stage with her.
As far as her appeal internationally, like others have posted, she has been seen in London in four successful productions. West Side Stiory, Bye Bye Birdie, Kiss Of The Spiderwoman and a limited run in Chicago. She recorded her first solo album, Chita! in London .
edit: and PS...even though I think the little girl works at the start of the show, I would much rather have seen Chita do "All That Jazz" all alone! She seems distracted by the young actress and that's her big finale. It should be her alone. I saw her perform this song at Feinstein's last year and she still gives the most thrilling and joy filled rendition.
