Just got my tickets in the mail today! Very excited here!! Keep looking for more information about the gala performance, but haven't really seen much. Last thing I heard was that Michael Crawford was definitely going to be there. Pass along anything else you've heard about it...

Hey.. I'm going too... I just had a question. With the tickets it said black tie or other fancy dress, are you guys wearing tuxes or just suits and ties? I plan on wearing a suit but just want to make sure I won't be the only one without a tux.

Thanks! I can't wait for it.

I think this is the one instance where girls have it a bit easier on the dress route than the guys. I'm wearing something I wore to another "black tie" event and my daughter plans to wear a dressy short dress. I don't know about tux vs. suit. Try contacting the promo company.

Where are your seats?

Wow. Thought I had lost my mind for a moment there.

I'm not going, but I'll be close by. Enjoy the show!

Edited to add: they've been working on this for weeks. It should be huge.

I'm going to wear a suit, I think a tux is overkill I mean its not like I'm part of the production in anyway.

If y'all don't mind me asking, but what kind of dent does this put in one's wallet?

The only dent is getting to NY. The tickets were "won". There was a contest where you had to answer some random Phantom questions. They did a drawing from the ones who answered everything right... 100 pairs of tickets were to be "won". Lo and behold... No tickets are to be sold for this event. The rest will be "special guests"... I'm expecting the usual suspects... ALW, Cameron Macintosh, Hal Prince, Michael Crawford, et al. I'm also assuming the lowly "winners" will all be seated together in the rear mezzanine, craning our necks and binoculars to see the beautiful people. I don't care where I sit. It will be amazing, no matter.

I am going as well. SInce I am a poor colllege student I plan on wearing all black and renting a nice long tux and a white tie. I hope that is formal enough.

Are these seats really that bad?? I heard it didn't matter because the theatre was kinda small. I've never been there so I don't know.

I'm jealous of all you guys! LOL! Have fun!

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat... Phantom of ASU - the seats aren't that bad... Its a good view from most of the theater. I sat in the mid front mezz in Nov.. We'll just be a tad higher. I prefer to see this show up in the mezz vs. the orchestra to enjoy and appreciate the entire stage.

Bumpity bump...I just was able to snag tickets from telecharge tonight...row B of rear mezz, left/center orch. Decent view? I've only sat in the orch for Majestic, never mezz, though I agree I don't care if I was in an added balcony.

Now the dress...how fancy should I be? I don't have dresses, so I'd either be in like a blouse w/ nice black pants...and pink skirts aren't good...I have a mostly black skirt w/ a little bit of pink...I'd rather where the pants given the weather obviously, what do you guys suggest?

I ended up getting tickets-- I think as an alternate because the email was received later than other peoples'. I'm so excited! We're trying to do the black-tie thing with the black cocktail dress and tux, but I'm going to have to change into it at work.

wickedrentq, I think I might try going with the skirt. If you really can't, I'm sure it's not a big deal because the formal-wear is more for others going to the ball afterwards, but just make sure you dress up the pants a lot with some nice accessories or something, or maybe add a matching blazer to it.

"I thought that that was just going to be a like one shot deal for me, you know, but they kept talking about it like, 'when we do the production, when we do the production', and I was like, 'yes, yes, when you do the production, cool, I will come and see it'". - John Gallagher Jr. on SA

I'm going! Can't wait. I'm wearing a black dress, black coat, black shoes. Basically all black. It's classy I believe. I'm sitting last row of rear mezz.

And wickedrentq, I've sat there before, they are wonderful seats. ^_^

I'm soooo excited I got tickets for this performance. I don't remember exactly where my seats are, but they're somewhere in the rear mezz. Though I really don't care where I'm sitting, I'm just glad I'll be there!! YAY!!!!
