ok. i loved this movie so much, and was so happy that it was great after the travesty that was the rent film... that being said, i have some questions...

a) how much lift was there in matthew broderick's shoes? the guy was taller than nathan and only slightly shorter than uma... i was baffled.

b) why didn't cady huffman have a cameo? there were so many "star" cameos (at least to us broadway freaks!) and obviously brad oscar because of his replacement, so i assumed cady would have something similar. i was kind of upset that she didn't (also, i'm kind of sad that nicole kidman couldn't do the role, she would have been better than uma.)

c) not a question, but nathan lane's "betrayed" = best thing ever. he was absolutely spectacular.

the end!

Kathy Fitzgerald. I think she is still in the show.

When they first leave the building (i think the song is called "We can do it" (sorry i never saw it before)) there is a coffee shop in the backround. was that Sarah Jessica Parker sitting in the window?

You must think I'm still sixteen. I dropped out of high school for a reason. And I don't care if you're pretty. I'm not admitting you are right. My soul is not a stage. I won't pretend I'm anything I'm not

So,if Kathy Fitzgerlad is in the movie...why not Jeffry Denman?

I have a question too. In the "Opening Night" number, did anyone recognize the guy who jumps up and says "How'd he achieve it?" (I think that was his line.) I would have sworn it was Howard McGillin but I didn't see his name in the credits so I was wondering if anyone knew who it was?

Kathy Fitzgerald is so hilarious. I was really happy to see that they gave the Ugly Showgirl and Shirley Markowitz parts to her - she deserved them. I was also glad to see Angie was in as a Showgirl too.

What I wish is that Eric Gunhus could have played the tenor. I really missed him.

Oh and I agree - Nathan's Betrayed was fantastic. I know the Golden Globe is a real long shot, but I'd love to see him win it. His performance was amazing.

Come on - that was John Barrowman as the tenor!!! He's one of my favorites -- I thought he was great.

I love Brent Barret's sexy scene designer. He is super hot. And that voice!

Angie got a cameo, perhaps Cady was busy doing something else. She has been away from the show for quite a while now, unlike Brad who up until recently was still a part of it.

I know, I know, it's John and he did do a fantastic job, but I love Eric. He *is* the lead tenor for me. re: Producers' movie questions...

I thought it was cute that Thomas Meehan was Max's lawyer for the courtroom scene re: Producers' movie questions...

Agree that Eric Gunhus was missed. John Barrowman was great in the role--great look and sound--but so is Eric. Too bad.

I looked for Jeffry Denman as well--surprised to not see him or Cady, but (maybe I'm naive but) I just figured it was a scheduling thing, not a snub.

I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved this movie! I was wondering, how much more different is it than the actual stage production?

A lot of reviews etc. actually credit an actress named Tory Ross as the "ugly showgirl". IMDB says it's Kathy but I think that's an error.

The showgirl is actually Tori Ross. She is a friend of mine.

Jeffry Denman (I believe this is how he spells his first name) was in the chorus in the Springtime numbers and probably other places. He's listed in the credits as well on imdb.com. I loved recognizing all the theatre people in chorus and cameo parts. It will be great fun when the dvd comes out.

I believe that Kathy only plays Shirley Makowitz.

I was wrong, Jeffry Denman isn't in the film. I thought I remembered seeing him but I was wrong.

"I believe that Kathy only plays Shirley Makowitz."

Then you believe wrong. She played the ugly showgirl AND Shirley Markowitz.
