So the Majestic Theatre in town is reopening in two weeks and there's a bunch of Broadway stars coming - including Elaine Stritch and Stephen Schwartz!

I just wish I was performing in this event rather than the cheaper less star-studded event happening later in the week. Carson Kressley, an alumnus of the college, will also be there (he came last year to speak to us - a wonderful guy!).

Man I never realized Gettysburg could be deemed interesting enough to warrant such big names!

What, Abraham Lincoln isn't a big enough name for you? re: Broadway is coming to Gettysburg!

Seriously though, that is very cool. I almost applied to Gettysburg, it's a great town.

... and one more Broadway addition to Gettysburg. Wildhorn's Civil War will be presented during summer weekends from June through Sept. for the next 5 years. I'm not clear if it will be "in concert" or the full show, but I know that Michael Lanning (original southern general on Bd'w) will be part of this long running project. More info. to come.

I live in Gettysburg. I can't wait for the Majestic to re-open--it's going to be a marvellous Art-Deco, old-style theatre. And to think of the legendary Stritch being there! New York isn't the only place for Broadway glamour!

Good luck BwayBaby! It's a great school - I'll be sad to leave it come May. re: Broadway is coming to Gettysburg!

Rent Boy~ It does seem a bit odd, at first. I honestly forget some of the details Frank discussed, but I beleive the town of Gettysburg is intersted in getting even more involved in a long term tribute to the battles fought at Gettysburg, an area much like Williamsburg VA., a city drenched in American history as well as a high summer/early fall tourist area. This might be the reason for a "seasonal" event or attraction. I'm guesing the PA dept.of Tourism will be one of the sponsors, if they plan to run this for an extended time period.

Wildhorn's Civil War is more of a concert staging anyway. So it should fit right in logistically. I know of a small handful of people that are hoping to be part of it. I think it's a nice addition to a really pretty part of the east coast to visit.
