i haven;t seen it but i am going while it is in boston. Student tickets are wonderful!
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

Can someone tell me more about student rush in Boston PLEASE? There are so many shows that I'd love to try to see but its a schlep to get into Boston and find out more.
for student rush you go i believe an hour before (best to get there even earlier) and you pay 25 bucks for whatever seat is available. I did it for hairspray and got orchrestra. You can go on google and check.

Just saw the tour in DC last weekend. Patrick was way too old to be Joseph, who is supposed to be the second to youngest brother. His vocals also weren't up to par. Acting was decent.
Amy Adams impressed me vocally as the Narrator, but she only belted in a few places, mostly in the second act. Not that this is bad, but I am used to the OBCR. Her stage presence was lacking, but I chalk that up to inexperience. She shows potential.
They did some "updates" to the show, using cellphones, and laptops, that came off as quite cheesy. The sets were great though, as was the choreography.
Overall its a fun show. I could have done without the "kids choir" from a local school- some did not even sing, and others just yelled. However, I suppose its cute if you are the parents, and I realize that its difficult to hire many "pro" kids, in a tour setting.
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)
I sang in the kid's choir in the tour that went around with Patrick Cassidy and Deborah Gibson back when I was going into 8th grade. It was really fun to do it; luckily our choir director (my old elementary school music teacher) was great about our harmonies etc. Such a blast to do that at a young age. I'm really stoked to see Amy Adams in this; loved her on American Idol and really enjoyed her in the AI concert tour that went around that summer.
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

Unlike KChenowethfan, I thought the DC show was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I've been disappointed in many road company productions in the past.) I thought the performances were very good. Patrick was too old BUT - WHAT A BOD HAS THAT GUY GOT! LOL

Well I loved it and would love to see it again but I can't lol I hated the choir that was in my town pittsburgh they sucked and yesterday I was downtown and saw one of them I don't think Patrick Cassidy is too old he was really good and the next show I am seeing is Phantom of the opera yay
"I hated the choir that was in my town pittsburgh they sucked"
I thought they were ok, then again that may be a biased statement because I take dance with 75% of them...
Oh yeah, I'm new, so...hi?
If you must discuss any musical with me, be sure that it isn't Wicked, Spamalot, or Phantom of the Opera. I know fairweather broadway fans who like to talk about these and only these shows.
I'm planning to see it in Boston this weekend with my sister, her husband, and their daughter. My niece just turned 5 so this will be her first show. I'm so excited! Has anyone in Boston seen it? Could someone link me to any reviews?

I haven't seen any reviews, but would love to. I helped build the sound rig for this tour, so I'm a bit interested to see if the sound is mentioned (as it usually is).
Also just a note: Punctuation and complete sentences are amazing things.
Thanks Jilani! Now I'm REALLY excited!!! I know my niece is going to enjoy herself. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is a theater full of kids. Adults alone can ruin a performance, but I fear the kids most. Ah, so are the woes of live theater.
