I also have tickets to the first preview and plan on grabbing seats for sometime around the time of opening after the show is frozen.

I asked Patti the following quesion via "Ask Patti" on her web site.
I was wondering as you have performed the role of Mrs Lovett previously will you approach the role afresh or will you build on your previous characterisation gained during the staged concerts?
Dear Jayar, I'm having an incredible experience. I have started afresh with the role. Love, Patti

Hoping to see the show in April... but only if LuPone is still in it... On her website she has some "Matters of the Heart"/"Coulda, Shouda, Woulda" shows scheduled for January & February so I dont know... but I'm hoping she'll stay. How long are original cast member's contracts usually (and depending on if the show even lasts that long...)?
How do I get tickets for the previews? I'll be in NYC the end of October. I had looked up tickets at ticketmaster, but they were only offering tickets for after the official Opening Night. I'd love to see it while I'm up there.
1) Telecharge, not Ticketmaster, is handling the show 2) Discounts are EVERYWHERE for previews (I keep getting flyers and emails). Check out Broadwaybox:

Would anybody help me out in saying whether or not I would have a chance going to the theatre at 4:00 on monday and getting a ticket for the first preview? I doubt it will be sold out so I wont be able to do standing room but I really wouldnt mind paying full price
Not sure why you would pay full price when a 30% discount is freely available (see above). Just print it out and bring it to the theatre to avoid telecharge fees. There's also a chance that there may be tickets available at TKTS. First previews rarely sell out for any show.

Not sure how I feel... don't love her voice, but her acting is fabulous - good timing in the concert version. I hope they go with Cyndi Lauper as replacement, or for a tour.

I was so skeptical about LuPone playing this role, I thought it was Bernadette Peters' turn to play Mrs. Lovett-was she even asked?-but once I read LuPone's statement, I felt she was very humble when she said "I'm not saying my performance is going to be extraordinary," that actually showed me her professional attitude. Also, I like that she's taking a new approach to the role. Crossing my fingers the show is still running in Dec. and that she is playing the role, unless Peters replaces (lol, sorry I love her)
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I haven't decided if I'm going to go Monday, or maybe wait a couple of days. 'Tis the type of production that might be better a couple of performances in.
Tickets are readily available. SWEENEY has never been a Broadway sellout.
