What's your most embarassing moment on stage?

Mine was when I played Mrs. MacAfee in BYE BYE BIRDIE. The MacAfee family was onstage and right before we had to sing "Kids" the guy who played Albert forgot to come back on. That ment that we had to just start the song. Of course I couldn't remember the cue line for the orchastra to start playing and Mr. MacAfee and I stood there and ad-libed for a minute or so then somehow the cue-line to start. It might not sound bad, but it felt like an eternity ad-libing then. Luckily our director said we did well for not having the cue-line said and for not having Albert come out.

Share your moments, I promise nobody will laugh at you, just with you!

you say i'm weird! look at everyone you're sitting with! and hey, those guys over there just threw napkins up in the air like they were on something! it's contajous! you can't help it!

One time I was dancing in "Annie Get Your Gun" with cowboy boots and one of them flew off and hit someone in the head and knocked 2 of their teeth out -- it was HORRID!

This year my high schoool put on Shoestring Theatre, and during the ballroom scene, there are cheap columns and my friends and I were supposed to "mingle" and instead ended up knocking over all of the columns in a domino sort of effect--thankfully, the play is supposed to look like it sucks, so it just made it more funny.

When I played Jack's Mother in ITW, closing night I missed my entrance for my death scene and they sent Rapunzel out before me before I could get on. Entirely my fault and entirely irresponsible and unprofessional. I was positively MORTIFIED. I didn't want to look anyone in the eye.

I injured myself in a heavy dance number by tripping going up the stairs and fell. In doing so, I broke my big toe and sliced my eyebrow on the fall. During the next number under heavy costumes, hot lights, low blood sugar, throbbing pain in my toe and wiping blood off my face I flat out fainted on stage and yes, the focus was on me. I fell back and hit my back on a light tree. All I recall is opening my eyes with the main rag down and the cast and stage manager all around me. I didn't do the finale that night to say the least.

When I was in south pacific in high school we had palm trees lining the back of the stage during baly hi. Well opening night they were not bolted down properly and one bye on you heard a loud thud as they fell forward. It was hard not to crack up laughing while the song was going on as you heard random thuds from the back of the stage.

dr.dolittle-houselights went out during two of the most important scenes, it was so embarassing, the audience was in the dark while we performed 10 minutes of the play, but we got a standing ovation when the lights came back on

Les Mis-during the wedding scene where the Thenardiers come to steal the silverware and are dressed in their funny clothing, I played Marius and i was singing the verse "go away thenardier...something something something" Thenardier kept turning away from me, and I was like "stop it!" (whispering of course) then i realized "Where did Madame Thenardier go?" it turns out she was more concerned on talking to the guests and she missed her verses

Little Prince-we hadn't had very much rehearsal and we opened in front of Critics, after scene 2 everybody forgot what the next scene was, but in addition the lines to that scene, so i died earlier than i was supposed to skipping 5 scenes!! it was so embarassing!!

Wonderboy that's horrible!!! Hope you're alright by now :)

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Mine was during Seussical the Musical. A few of us had to wear visors along with the glasses for "It's Possible". When Mr.Mayor came on and yelled "JoJo"!, all of us with the fish and the bamboo sticks had to fall on the floor. My glasses and visor fell off. Luckily this was during the performance where we perform for the elementary schools only so they wouldn't care. Also, something else happened to me onstage in this show that wasn't embarrassing but I thought I'd share it with you. During the Christmas scene with the Grinch(I was a whoville child) when we were all checking out the presents, a girl's present almost fell offstage. I also looked the wrong way when General Schmitz came with his cadets to bring the bad news about JoJo.

I was in a production of Rumors, playing Lenny. On our opening night, we got to the last scene of the first act perfectly. I was supposed to chase Ernie to stop him from going up the stairs and trip, so as I did this I ACTUALLY tripped and tumbled across the stage. Of course this was the night our Ken forgot to close the front door stage right, and I slammed into it, almost knocking over the stage right wall and knocking loose three of our glass windows. The ironic part? It happened again the next night...

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

Ok this one is really bad. One time I was playing Ti Moune and Daniel was singing Some Girls to me. During the song a fly kept buzzing around our heads and landing on us and we were trying so hard not to break. So in the midst of holding back laughter. I peed a little and it was on the stage, but nobody noticed. To this day I've only told like one friend!

guys and dolls. Havanna fight scene all the dancers got into fights with the ensemble. We all ahted the show and eachother, so closing we all got a little TO inti beating up eachother. We all beat the crap out of eachother. And then had to go on and finish the show. A friend of mine had a split lip. Someone else had clumps of hair pull off their scalp. My forehead was cuit by a character shoe. Our choreographer BERATED us. I just felt bad. I wanted to show to be over, for good. To this day I refuse to audition for the show, becuase of how bad that experience was.
Not embarresing when I read it over again, but itwas tramatic to me.

This isnt embaressing, but funny. I was doing "Give My Regards To Bway" and I played Legs Ruby. It was my first scene and I was out there with one of my VERY good friends who was playing Trixie(Legs girlfriend). We were a few lines from begining our song, and all of a sudden we hear voices coming from the speackers! Someone was in the dressing room with their mike on! I cant remember what we heard, but it was something that I REALLY dont think they wanted EVERYONE to hear. Plus, with us being such good friends, it was HARD to stay in character and not laugh.

This is not embaressing for me, but for someone else. I was at a production of GREASE, and during one of the scenes with all the guys in it we heard, "Is that Logan out there screming?" The girl that was playing Sandy, forgot to turn off her mike, or what ever. It was QUITE funny!

fosse, just tonight in grease our mic guy screwed up and had eugene's volume up when he wasn't on stage, well that wasn't very good!

also, i did city of angels at a theatre where the guys dressing room has toilets right against the wings of the stage, and not everyone knew not to flush during productions... that turned out very funny.

Tonight Angela Lansburry fell face first on stage during the bows at the bowl. Burnedett Peters helped her up.

When I played Eugene in "Brighton Beach Memoirs", I almost killed myself during the first five minutes of the entire RUN! The stage manager mopped the stage too close to showtime, so the stage was still slick. I start the show with a couple of monologues outside the family house. When Kate calls me into the house, I start to run, annd slip on the wet stage and slide into the screen door to the house. I pick myself up, walk into the house and deliver another series of lines. Then, I have to run out of the room and up the stairs. I start to run out... but the bottoms of my shoes are still wet... so I fall again. I just couldn't believe that happened during the first five minutes of opening night. I thought it was an omen, but thankfully we had an amazing run.

I was there tonight and saw Angela fall too! I felt so badly for her. It took a good while for her to get up (understandably). At least I'm glad she made it to her feet again. I was just greatful for the opportunity to see & hear her do "A Little Priest" with Len Cariou. What a moment! (Both of them, I guess.)

My own most embarrassing moment was running over Marin Mazzie's foot with the "death bed" during the final moments of our dress rehearsal of EVITA several years ago. I thought I'd killed her. Thankfully, I was wrong. She made out okay.

Two yuears aog in theater we did Much Ado About Nothing. It was bad enough that because of the way the two classes were divided up we only had 10 people in our class while the other class had 30 something. So while the other class was double and sometimes triple cast for characters, we had two and three parts each. We also only had ONE guy in our class. Our whole production was a mess. I don't think any of us knew all of our lines. Two people actually had scripts onstage the night of the performance. There was one scene between Don Pedro(me) and Claudio(a person who had their script onstage). A lot of my scenes were with Benedick.

so the night of the show I go onstage with my friend who played Benedick(our one guy) though he wasn't supposed to be onstage. We're in the middle of teh scene and I forget my line. I look at Aubrey(stupid girl playing Claudio) with one of those looks that says "DO SOMETHING" and she just stands therem so I wisper for her to read the damn line because she has the script. She wispers back "I don't have that page"

I think I nearly had an anxiety attack when she said that. The guy playing Benedick just walked off stage. turned and left. I made up some poor excuse to leave and got off as quickly as possible.

The entire production was embarasing but that was the worst part.

During the ballroom scene in the production of Annie Get Your Gun that I was in, someone didn't turn off their mic and the person was swearing and singing and laughing and talking and it was HILARIOUS!! Eventually the character went back on stage and when he left, he turned off his mic.
