What exactly do you expect to see at a final performance? I've never been to one. I'm trying to get tickets to Sutton Foster's MILLI final performace. And I definately want to be at B. Peters final performance of GYPSY - hoping that won't be any time soon!!
So should I gear myself to expect anything in particular?
Well, at Marissa's last performance of Hairspray it was a lot of tears and then at the end a speech from Harvey and another from Mac and they gave everyone Krispy Kream donuts. When I say everyone I mean everyone cast, crew, pit, house worker, audance, everyone. It was fun but very sad. I'm also going to be at Matt and Clarks last performance next month :)
Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!
Hi, I dunno about last peformances of musicals on Broadway. I went to see Ruthie Henshall and Kevin Richardson's last night in CHICAGO London. It was a fantastic show and a normal one. During curtain call, Ruthie and Kevin only hugged each other and smiled at each other. But after the show, the whole cast and crew was into a backstage farewell party and it took an hour!!!!! When the cast start coming out, everyone was already bored to death! hehe!! The theatre did not announce anything about it is Ruthie Henshall and Kevin Richardson's last night.... quite disappointed they did not have anything special during the show! because I heard that during Ute Lemper's last show in London, she encored 'I Can't Do It Alone'. I really do not know anything about the last performance in Broadway. But I think Sutton's last performance will be fantastic..... I want to see her, but I do not think I catch a performance...... not Matt nor Clarke..... *cries* My Millie group!!!

ive been to two. i went to alan cummings final performance at cabaret. a few speeches and tears. and i was in the les mis final performance. it was soooo amazing. we did this huge finale medley at the end. they had former les mis cast members perform. and then all of this confetti and ballons and speeches. it was great, but so sad. because les miserables (in my opinion) is such a great show. personally my favorite
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
Les Miz was incredible and very exhausting. Definitely, not for the weak of heart. It evokes a lot of emotions, but then again, isn't that what a great production is supposed to do?
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
I REALLY want to go to Bernadette's last night of Gypsy...I imagine it will be pretty emotional...let's hope this doesn't come till September of next year!! :
It might be hard to catch Sutton's last performance- She keeps extending her contract! Wow I love her! Thank god or I wouldnt be seeing her in it! Wicked Fan- How did you get to be in the Les Miz finale for the last show- thats pretty cool!
I went to Bernadette's final performance on AGYG, and there were TONS of tears...including myself (haha I was sobbing through the entire thing). Don't expect to see anyone at the stage door that night, that's all I have to say...
And I'm trying to get to Bernadette's last GYPSY also!

Sutton's last night is Feb 15th. It's also Delta's, I Believe. Shame, coz I already had tickets to the matinee on the 16th! So I guess I'll be seeing whoever replaces them both.
i saw Linda Eder's final performance in Jekyll and Hyde. it was really cool because she got sveral standing ovations during the show. there were also some places where ad libbing occured to make her laugh. it was a really special performance. I REALLY want to see Sutton Foster's last performance in Millie, but if it's in February as currently planned, I won't be able to go. originally she was supposed to be leaving on nov. 2nd so i went to that but obviously it wasn't really her last day.
are tickets ever higher priced for when a Broadway Star leaves...example when Bernadette Leaves the show...I imagine they will close the show then too...so with the show closing and it being Bernadette's last show, will they raise the tickets prices?:)
I've been to seveal final performances. At Bernadette and Tom's final peformance together in AGYG they both added some cute adlibs. When Tom came out on stage to sing "There's No Business..." he got very choked up.People started applauding and it turned into this amazing standing ovation that went on for a few minutes. He was actually a little bit more outwardly emotional than Bernadette was during the show. At Rob Evan's final performance of Jekyll & Hyde " when he said the line " 4 o'clock and all is well" he changed it to whatever time it was at that moment.Rob and George Merritt also got into a laughing fit at one point lol At the final performance of Seussical Cathy Rigby made a hysterical comment about Fran Weissler ( who was in the audience that night).
At the last night of Witches of Eastwick in London they had loads of ticker tape falling everywhere and the cast just said a big thank you to the audience, nothing special.
RuthieFanFelix - Ruthie's final night wasn't anything special because it was a limited run, and if anything.. she's in Chicago so much that if they did something different everytime she left then.. well, every performance would be memorable(!)
The only final performance I ever have seen was last springs' Flower Drum Song with Lea Salonga. There was a very long applause for Ms Salonga when she first appeared and at the final credits, as one might imagine, but that show didn't run very long and had disappointing box office sales.
I'm a big Millie fan (they're not all girlies) and I wouldn't miss Sutton Fosters final perfomance for the world. This is going to be special. Let's just hope it don't snow that day.
