Earlier this evening, the A&E Network aired a live special - A Barry Manilow Christmas: Live By Request. Barry sang popular holiday tunes, including his own. At the end of the show, Barry said something like "We need PEACE, we need JOY, we need HARMONY." Hmmmm...I wonder if he was referring to his musical.
In an interview in yesterdays NY Post, Manilow hinted that possible new investors for Harmony were coming together & he was hoping to put it back together early next year. Alledgedly none of the actors connected with it took new jobs as they are confident this will happen. When asked why he did not put his own money in a show, he sounded like Max in the Producers saying "Never put your own money in a show"
All in all I thought it was a good show...entertaining...
Bette and him were lip synching during their duet...=( I have never ONCE heard Bette lip synch...it doesn't matter I still love Miss Bette...is anyone going to catch the "Kiss My Brass" tour?
I was guessing Manilow would re-group for this project... hopefully, thankfully wiser from this expereience!I know that at least one of the major players is not lying stagnent while they get their act together. A bird in the hand is better than...you know what. As some may know, the actors were re-imbursed for their time spent with Harmony...and rightfully so.
See, I thought they were lip-synching at first too, but once he chymed in I thought...well maybe not. But she did sound exactly as she does on the cd. I'm a littlesurprised because that's not like her to lip-synch.
