Kerry Butler on the Today Show!

Kerry will be performing "Somewhere That's Green" on the Today Show (check local listings for time and channel) on Saturday, November 8th.

Yay, I can't wait to see her perform. She sings it so well on stage and her watery eyes and tears add so much. Somewhere That's Green is one of the best songs. Too bad I'm not female, I would want to sing that!!!

YAY, I'm excited She does sing Some Where That's Green so well but she sings everything very well. She's awesome and deff. makes me cry during that song every time I see the show.

Thanks for the heads up. I used to be so up to date on all the shows that were playing on the talk shows. Now I am lucky if i catch a snippet or something.
I have to say tho-- as much as I like her... I guess since I have not seen the show live, I still cannot hear Audrey without the little quirks that Ellen gave it.
But I will be watching Kerry. Maybe she will suprise me!

Hopefully she will be all into it like she is on stage. Its understandable that the circumstances are different in a studio, but I'm sure Kerry will be fine. Its not like its her first time in front of the TV.

And get that damn Ellen Greene out of your head! Luckily I've listened to the NEW CD enough to only be able to her Kerry's rendition. She's so adorable when she's describing her little house. "-- And the houses are so neat and pretty, because they all like just alike."

I didn't see her on The Today Show this morning. Was this cancelled or rescheduled? Anyone know?

It wasn't on the today show she was on the show after it. I don't know what it's called but thank god I let the tape run so I recorded it or I would have been pissed when I got home. Playbill.com gave the right time but the wrong show I think.

Kerry did a great job! She wasn't in costume this time and it was just her the Urchis who are in the scene weren't there. They asked her 2 questions "Is it hard playing such a well known Character?" and "What it's like working with the puppet?"
Then she stood at a mic and sung her Little hart out. She did "Somewhere that Green" as planed. She did it with all the little hand movements she does in the show and all the emotion as well. Kerry did her usual Amazing job.

As an actress, I think she makes the part her own and I generally enjoyed her while seeing the show. However, I have to say she sounds completely off key on the cast recording. It's totally upsetting, and I hope she was worth firing Alice Ripley or not choosing Felicia Finley over........
