Does anyone here ever find they can relate to Eve Harrington a little too well? Notice similarities here and there that kind of send off red flags? And who exactly is your Margo Channing?

Discuss.

No! I would never want to get ahead that way. But, a friend and I love to sneak into each other's dressing rooms to be caught handling each other's costumes a la Eve.

we are doing "Applause" at my HS and the girl who is cast as Eve would only accept Eve or Margo, nothing else, and hasnt given anything to the department and is just a snob. Her understudy deserves the role so much! It's kind of ironic. . I guess Im karen because i dont dislike the mian girl as much as others but I'm on the side of the understudy who is a good friend. (I know Im biased). Our techie friend said we should gain the main girl's gas tank...lol

AAE is the BEST film ever -- no comparison -- there is not a single line of dialogue wasted...so witty, smart and intelligent

I've never been able to relate to anything that Eve does in that film. She is a sniveling, coniving rat from the moment she enters the scene. I never wanted to take anything away from anyone else in my life, so I totally cannot relate to her.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I'm sure she gave a lot of little starlets some nasty ideas, but I don't relate to her.

For anyone who's interested, here's my "remake" cast for ALL ABOUT EVE (which happens to be one of the best films ever made).

Margo Channing - KATHLEEN TURNER
Eve Harrington - NAOMI WATTS
Addison DeWitt - ALAN RICKMAN
Karen Richards - VIRGINIA MADSEN
Bill Sampson - CLIVE OWEN
Lloyd Richards - TIM ROBBINS
Birdie Coonan - RHEA PERLMAN
Claudia Caswell - KATE BOSWORTH

I was *joking*, folks. re: 'All about...' who?

Don't get your panties in a twist.

I LOVE the idea of Kathleen as Margo. Not sure about Naomi Watts...

Not sure about Watts in what sense?

Well... I *can* see her as Eve, I was just trying to think outside the box...

I do think Kathleen is genius, though. I can think of anyone else more perfect.

They did a reading of the screenplay here in LA a couple of years ago as a benefit, and Stockard Channing got good press as Margo - but Tim Curry brought down the house as Addison DeWitt.

OOOO! Stockard Channing as Margo! BRILLIANT!!!!

That woman is CRAZILY talented. Oooo... I can so see it. I think Stockard would make for a much quirkier Margo than Kathleen... Kathleen a little brassier... but both I'd *love* to see.

STOCKARD CHANNING ROCKS MY WORLD..She can act the yellow pages and i'd plunk down a hundred bucks to see her do it too, provided she wears her Pink Ladies jacket.
