i was listening to she loves me today and was wondering if there is a london cast recording with ruthie henshall? what role did she play when it was in london amalia or ilona? i can so see her playing ilona and belting out "i resolve"!! but i bet she played amalia seeing how its the lead femal.

was'nt judy kuhn in this show when is was on broadway?? i remember reading that she was nominated for a tony for this show? if so why is she not on the new cast recording and what role did she play?? please explain?? thanks for your help :)

Yes there is a London cast recording with Ruthie Henshall and she played Amalia. The rest of the cast I think is really lame, and even she is not my favorite on the recording. I think there may even have been an older cast recording of She Loves Me in London after the original Broadway production closed.

And yes, Judy Kuhn was in the show for a short time. Then she got Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard and had to go into rehearsal for that, leaving the part to Diane Fratantoni when the show moved to Broadway. I am not one hundred percent sure that this is correct, but it is what I understood from other people.

That sounds right. That's how I heard the story, too. I also know that she had a baby in there somewhere...

Could you imagine leaving a wonderful role like Amalia in such a well-written show as SHE LOVES ME to go to the likes of milquetoast Betty Schaeffer in the God-awful SUNSET BLVD?

I was fortunate enough to see Judy Kuhn play Amalia while it was still at the Roundabout. She was fabulous. I'm sad that she's not on the recording. Diane Fratantoni isn't bad at all, but Judy's voice is something special.

so was judy nominated for a tony for the show?

i cant believe she left the show too! it was a leading role and she wnet to do a supporting part. i guess andrew offered alot of money.

Yes, Judy got a Tony nomination for SHE LOVES ME, but lost to Donna Murphy in PASSION.

Ruthie in the London Cast in Absolutely Awesome! She won the London Olivier Award for her portrayal.

She has untouchable renditions of "Where's my shoe" which she actually BELTS, and "Vanilla Ice Scream" due to her comedic timing and tongue twisters, lol.

Ruthie is queen.
