"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The Dining Room. It isn't a Broadway play but uhh, you didn't specify. I was playing with my arm the whole second half, that's how bored I was.
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.
haha. I actually assistant directed that this past fall for my school... it wasn't too bad. I just don't find it a very great storyline or humorous or anything in particular. we had a really good cast and i was actually glad to be a part of it. we had a lot of fun making it.
i can see from an audience perspective that it can be boring.
Broadwaybaby were you talking about the play I said?

GO HOOK! I HATE HATE HATE RENT. I love the OCR for WICKED, but the actual show didn't interest me. I was pretty bored.
I saw a very, very, very good school version of Les Mis and it was fantastic. Somehow the school got enough money to ship the entire cast to NYC for training with actual broadway people. Even my very critical theatre teacher was bawling her eyes out at the end.
Jean Valjean was amazing. His voice was awesome from his first line and never went down hill.
man of la mancha- although i love the title song and the impossible dream
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

OMG. How can you not like this show? I mean yes, I understand some parts but as a whole........how? My girlfriend (who does not like musicals) loved it when we went to see it when it was on tour. The musical has nothing but heart and gives a great life lesson of to live everyday as if it is your last and love all around you, no matter how different they seem to be.
But I respect your opinion.

I was kidding about WICKED and HELLO DOLLY (play on words, AHOY THERE, DOLLY).
However, RENT is boring. VERY awesome music, but it just lacks...plot. I mean yes, there is a storyline, but WHERE'S THE PLOT?

Of course not everyone is going to agree here. Let people say what they want to. Each show doesn't have to please everyone. Broadway is full of many different styles - that's what makes it so wonderful.
