What do you all think about this? Does anyone know what the song DESPERADO and Michael Moore have in common? Should she have been kicked out?

Rather than be spoon-fed, here's for you to reason why:

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late

I think artist's have a right to express political opinions during their shows as well as when being interviewed. Ronstadt was treated shabbily.

I think she was treated just fine. I would be mad if I went to her concert and she shoved her political views down my throat. Personally, I don't mind Bush. I don't like him, but he's not terrible. It's Michael Moore I really dislike*mumbles random obscene things under breath*
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

It's her show--she can express herself however she wants to. I would think if you were a fan, you'd be interested in what she has to say and her right to say it even if you disagreed.

Ehh, yah I suppose your right. I just have this issue with a time and a place for everything(half the reason why I loathe Michael Moore, his Oscars acceptance speech)...

There is the argument that it's ok in Oscar speeches--just not in presenter's script. And it WAS very appropriate considering what he won it for.

Besides, Bush is a jerk. re: Linda Ronstadt and Michael Moore

Bush is a jerk - but if I went to a Linda Ronstadt concert, I'd be going to hear her sing. She doesn't have any political experience, background, or higher education. So why should I pay money to listen to her opinions? Does she want to hear mine?

I was walking in Times Square yesterday and in the window of a tourist shop was a very clever tee shirt.
On the Right side there was a picture of George Bush and on the left his son.
The caption: Dumb and Dumber! I might go and buy it and wear it to the Republican convention.

So I went to the Linda concert last night here in Los Angeles. She is in great voice . Michael Moore sent her flowers which were given to her right before the encore. Linda has been saying her comments ever since the film came out. She was not asked to leave the Aladdin in Vegas. She was already leaving en route to the next tour stop. She wasn't even aware there had been a ruckus till later. Last night the media was there trying to get (or create) a reaction from concert goers. With the exeption of some crazies , most people didn't talk to them.

Oh I might add. The show was sold out. I'm wondering if the created gossip from the Vegas show has made her a hot ticket again. Good for her. It is a good concert.

The story was certainly overblown, much like many of our esteemed boardmates... re: Linda Ronstadt and Michael Moore

As if there was such a thing.
Good for her.
