This wednesday on the "10 spot" there will be an episode of MADE (a show about kids chasing their dreams w/a little help) about a girl trying to make it on broadway, should be interesting.......even if it is on MTV
"Fidelity is more than mere display, it's what a man expects from life. Fidelity, like mine to Desiree and Charlotte my devoted wife..."
She goes to a Broadway Dance tap class in the episode and my friends were in the same class! They said she can't tap dance for s***. The previews don't look so promising for her either. Oh well.
I think she'll make it. I girl I know applied a video to Made and the only pick you if you are more of a challenge. Like this girl wanted to do some sort of running marathon- but shes like in shape and fit- they rather pick some one overweight and stuff. Like this girl I am guessing is a dancer, but not trained in tap. Say if I sent in a video for acting, they wouldnt pick me because I have experience. It has to be like something you've never done or have been before. I thought the best epsisode was the DMX rider. She was awesome!
Must agree that she looks pretty bad, but she will make it anyway. They always make it.......no one wants to look like an asshole on t.v. especially when MTV is giving you free publicity. What I want to know is why doesn't she just audition for something that doesn't require tap dancing???

im at Broadway Dance Center everyday and I saw this notice on the call board there about 2 or 3 months ago. They were looking for a dance teacher "to teach a southern bell with a bway dream how to dance" for the TV show MADE. If they are showing it now... chances are they shot it last month and if she was cast, she would already be in the show. Randy Skinner teaches tap right before my tap class a lot and if he didnt cast THOSE people who are tappers in that class, this girl probably did not make it.
I hardly doubt she will make it. The peopel who were "made" didnt try out for anything as big as Broadway. I remember the first episode where the girl wanted to be a cheerleader. It was for her highschool! they could afford to take her, it isnt a business or anything! I remember a garage band from NJ wanted to win a battle of the bands and didnt. Those were the only two i saw. But still, i doubt she will get hired, if she has no dance experience that is.
Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance...
I AM NOW "TGIF!"
I don't think the point of "Made" is to necessarily have the people succeed at the audition or tryout of whatever it is they are trying for, as much as it is a confidence builder. Their real success is that they build up the courage and stamina to go out for something they've always wanted but never quite knew how to go after it. Not everyone that goes on the show gets exactly what they want in the end...but that's what keeps me watching (to see if they do, or at least see how far they've come in the process if trying).

She was really bad. But WOW! I've never really seen what an audition looks like. It must be so intimidating to be up against people who have trained their entire lives...not to mention people who have been in shows before.
I wonder if she actually made it past the first round legitimately, or if MTV asked the judges to have her pass the first round for show and then cut her loose if they really didn't want her?

Exactly! Throughout the whole show, singing was not mentioned once, and it shocked me. To be in a Broadway show, one has to sing AND dance. She was okay; if she learned all that in 4 weeks, imagine what she would be like in a few years!
I do like the fact that she was deidicated. Sure, she wanted to quit at some points; but she never did. Even when her boyfriend and friends came to visit. She knew where her responsibility was, and she went to her rehearsals and did what she was told. lol I liked the part where she was going around saying hello to random people on the subways and streets of NYC. hahaha I so would have thought she was trying to sell something, as opposed to just being a nice person who wanted to say hello.
