I can’t believe it’s been this long already since opening night! I saw this one back in 2015 with Joshua De La Cruz, Courtney Reed, and James Monroe Iglehart as my leads.

Congrats on this milestone!

Such a great show.  Saw the show a few weeks after it opened on a Saturday night.  "A Friend Like Me" stopped the show.  Literally stopped the show, and got a standing O.  I can count on 1 hand the number of times in my many, many, many decades of seeing theatre in NYC, London and all over the US that happened.  Here's to many, many more years.  And, keeping actors, crew, musicians and theatre staff employed!

Lots of longevity in that cast.

  • only three full-time Genies for the run of the show: 3 years of Iglehart, 2.5 of Major Attaway, and the rest has been Michael James Scott.
  • Don Darryl Rivera has been Iago for nearly the entire run
  • Jonathan Freeman did Jafar from opening through 2022, and since then it's been mostly Dennis Stowe.

The last time I saw the show it was in Costa Mesa back in 2019. Major Attaway as the Genie was the TRUE star of the show

I really love this show and I've been lucky enough to see it several times on Broadway and on the first national tour. It has just such a magic to it that continues to enchant audiences. I went to see it a few weeks ago on Broadway and the gentleman in front of me was having the time of his life and it made me just so happy.

Aladdin was one of the last shows I saw on Broadway the day before Broadway shutdown and during the shutdown, I would think of A Whole New World and the lyrics to the song and it would bring me some much needed joy in the darkness.

Thank you for all the magic over the years! Here's to many more years of magic, Aladdin!
