After a long absence, I am finally able to return to NY for a theater trip, and will be attending a long weekend from March 9th to the 12th.

Before the Pandemic, I would come out twice a year in the Spring and Fall to see as many of the new productions I could, but the past couple years have been hard, starting with me getting laid off from my job of 15 years (along with 40% of the company) in 2020 because of the Pandemic, learning last year that I am a diabetic (luckily, I am a controlled diabetic, and not at any dangerous risk), having to go through surgery on my foot to fix an issue with my bone structure, and losing one of my older brothers to COVID, and my father to health issues that plagued him for years.

After all that, I think I deserve some Broadway.  I'm going kind of a bit cheaper than normal.  For example, I used to stay at The Michelangelo on West 51st (behind the Winter Garden), but this time I will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Time Square North on West 46th, as I found a great deal there that was better than what the Michelangelo wanted for that weekend.

I have just purchased my ticket for my first show, which will be the revival of Sweeney Todd on the night I arrive.  I also am hoping to get tickets to Camelot and Some Like it Hot.  That leaves one slot open for my weekend. (I'm seeing 1 show Thursday and Friday and 2 on Saturday), so if anyone has any suggestions to look into that will be playing around that weekend, I will be welcome to listen.

Just happy to be doing one of these trips again, even if it will be a bit more on a budget than I used to.

When do you have to leave the city Sunday?  When I was in the city in July I had to get to Newark by 4pm for ky flight home.  But, I this still gave me time to do the early brunch ahow at the Blue Note jazz club in Greenwich Village.  The weekend I was there Nelly McKay was doing the brunch shows and I have long wanted to see her live.  If you have the time in your schedule, I recommend checking their website closer to your dates to see if it may be someone you would enjoy.  I think it was $25 & a $10 minimum food/beverage purchase.
