Has anyone seen Circle Jerk?  Intrigued because it sounds so creative... but is the humor very crude?

I streamed at some point last year and - it was literally awful.  I wish the humor were crude - it was like watching Mystery Science Theater 3000

Based on the title, I would guess… yes?

It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, so it clearly has some merit.

"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

The first time I knew this show was from an email sent by Telecharge: Circle-Jerk off-Broadway ( I had to look closely for a minute )

Saw this in-person last night. The target audience is definitely the terminally online. Seeing the costume changes and the novelty of watching the video feed projected above the stage that was being presented to the online audience at the same time as the live performance was fun, but stripped of that the play was kind of an exercise in checking off how many TikTok memes one can reference in two hours. I can't make sense of what happened in the third act nor do I really care to think about it.

the fact that a pultizer finalist can't fill a two week run and has to paper is pretty sad
