Fight Club musical- still ongoing?

I just rewatched Fight Club today: it made me feel uneasy in the best way. Rather than just hypothetical, the downward spiral of toxic masculinity and radicalization that the film presented so satirically has become a real world phenomenon. This is a dark, prescient movie that isn’t as “fun” as it seemed in the late nineties, but that’s a selling point.

Is the musical still in development? I know Trent Reznor was writing it for Julie Taymor shortly before his ascent to Hollywood scoring royalty.

This is one of the rare cases where the film actually improved upon the novel.

A musical would be horrendous. I’d see it for the gay camp value though.

Omg. I’d have loved to have seen Christian Borle & Patrick Wilson in this. And Julie Taymor & Reznor? Count me in for Jack’s Big Homophombic/Homoerotic American Musical! Get Sutton Foster in as Marla, book Korins & the Beetlejuice design team. And please, let’s get Brad Garrett for Bob. Done.

I can’t imagine it being GOOD, especially after American Idiot low key adapted it already. But anything Reznor does is usually worth exploring, especially in his Reznor and Ross/Nine Inch Nails 2.0 era.
