Also confirmed that Ayla Ciccone-Burton WILL be returning to the cast after The Great Gatsby concludes its run at Paper Mill.

Wow I definitely didn’t expect the whole Aragon tour cast to replace. They’re a fabulous group and I guess it makes sense to bring in a group with established rapport and chemistry.

This makes me wonder...

- Will we get another Aragon tour cast with new girls

- Would the Boleyn tour girls be the next to come in?

- Would Boleyn be the only US tour? I don't know how many cruise ship productions are still standing

I think they closed the Aragon tour because there wasnt appetite for two national tours running concurrently. Cant see why they would start up a whole new one now?

And I also doubt they are now planning to bring in the Boleyn cast in December 2024. That would mean those girls do two years on tour, and then another year on Bway? Seems unrealistic...

Khaila Wilcoxon, Storm Lever and Olivia Donaldson are incredibly talented, but theres something that just seems off about this bizarre "one year and then we fire every one of you!" rule that SIX has invented for itself...

At this point, it seems unlikely that they keep two tours running.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Today’s casting decision, to me, is the mark of a successful, long-running production that does not rely on big names to stay open - where the safest option for replacements would simply be recycling faces from its national tour.

The physical assets of the Aragon company are now being used at the Canadian company, which was cast with Canadian talent. They have dropped down to one domestic tour. They needed the second company to cover initial demand, but as the show is sized to do one-week stops, they are going to be able to have covered most full-week markets by this time next year, with just the one company touring.

I'm not going to get into the economic reason for the full cast turn-overs every year on this show; I'll just say that they're doing it London-style where casts are contracted for 1 year, and the expectation is that there will be a full cast change every year. And, as we can see from the number of folks who have gone out of the show for medical leaves, the show is causing physical and vocal issues for a lot of people who have done it-their bodies need a break from doing the show after 12 months of doing it.

On top of the reasons you listed, bringing in new queens annually gives fans of the show a reason to return. The Queendom is always gonna come in to support the new faces. The average theatregoer isn’t gonna care who’s playing each queen but the loyal fans will keep returning.

I believe the Norwegian productions are ending next year. It’s nice to see a few of the cruise queens get a shot to play the role on Broadway (Marilyn and now Wesley).

Happy trails to the seven queens departing the Broadway cast tonight.

And FYI, Hailee Kaleem Wright will NOT be continuing with The Heart of Rock and Roll for its Broadway run (she did the workshop in early August).

Liz Doran also music directed at SIX for the last time tonight (hopefully for now). She is attached to Water for Elephants in the spring.

You could say the same about Wicked where the contracts seem to be (most of the time, not all the time) for 9 months-1 year and then the actress leaves. It really depends on the demand of the role. The Six Queens are non-stop for 90 minutes. It makes sense to have a rotation like this.

The Playbills have finally been updated with a picture of the new cast!

If anyone's there tonight, would love to hear reports on our new queens.

I am so baffled that Six is somehow still running. It's like so absurdly successful to a degree no other show with a similar structure has managed in anything resembling it.

I just noticed that Bella Coppola is now Jane Seymour in the Toronto cast.  Does anyone know what happened to their initial Seymour?  It seemed they went out pretty early in the Toronto run and haven't been back -- this is the second US replacement to be filling in.

Variety of reasons and I don't mean to be snarky, but they're not obligated to disclose. Illness. Injury. Working on a different project that requires them to take a leave. Who knows? But Canada is lucky to have other Queens come in (the other was Kelsee Kimmel, was it not?)

Kelsee was there for about 4 months. The original Seymour did get injured in early October but hasn't posted anything since related since. Bella is only there until 4/8, so maybe the original one will come back to close the run out.

The six tour has dates through July 28th and then it doesn’t pick back up until November for a 3 week run in DC. Anyone know what’s up with that? Is the current tour shutting down in July and it’s being “downsized” (lower tier contract) in the fall?

I haven’t heard anything about that. lThe Boleyn Tour just announced a new cast that starts next month.

Kristina Leopold and Cassie Silva will be Aragon and Boleyn.

It looks like all of the "new" Boleyn tour queens have a previous history with the show, so given the abrupt tour casting change announcement out of nowhere and it not lining up with the tour breaks makes me start to believe this theory. Especially with the larger licensing roll out we're seeing with SIX.

Happy for them, but I can't help but wish Leopold was taking on Seymour and Silva was taking on Cleves, both roles where they really really shined.

True. The gap is odd. I assumed eventually the tour would scale down to fit smaller venues but the tour is still selling well in big venues. I’m seeing the tour next month and actually struggled to secure a ticket.

It seems like a lot of work to rehearse three brand new alternates (who have no history with the show) just for a couple of months.
