To see Company or Waitress? Or both?

I have tickets for Lehman Trilogy, Chicago and Hadestown. I'm really interested in seeing both Company and Waitress but might be able to see just one of them, what does everyone suggest?

It isn't official yet, but odds are this production of Waitress will be filmed with Bareilles as Jenna. You can watch it upon release - coming from someone who really isn't the biggest fan of this show.

As for the Company revival, it is a very solid reworking for the modern age (especially the gender-bending), though there are still a few weak spots. George Furth's book has always been an issue with this show (though it does boast some fantastic lines), and Katrina Lenk's vocal prowess - at least during the previews they played before B'way shut down - was inconsistent, which was surprising given how flawless she was in The Band's Visit. The entire supporting cast shines, though, as does Sondheim's magnificent score.

If you can only see one, go with Company. It is a far superior show and production in every single way.

Ah quite saddened to hear about Waitress! Although I heard that it will possibly be recorded too! Since Bareilles is only staying until mid-October, I was wondering who might take over after she leaves. Same performers as its original run (i.e., Colleen Ballinger, Katherine McPhee, etc.)? Hmmm. I heard Gavin Creel as Dr. Pomatter did very well, and I also wonder if Jessie Mueller (since The Minutes isn't opening until February) could return considering Waitress is on a limited run. 

I heard Katrina Lenk did well in The Band's Visit! I was definitely looking forward to how Company has been reworked for Broadway. If I may ask, how was Patti Lupone in the previews? I was definitely learning toward seeing Company because of Lupone's performance, and undoubtedly, Sondheim's score.

I have been leaning more toward Company! I have definitely been looking forward to seeing Patti Lupone and Katrina Lenk perform as a pair.

If you can, try to see both. I saw Waitress several times and Company once. I would see Waitress again if I had to choose between two of them.

I have seen both- and saw Company in London- for me, now contest- Company is a much deeper exploration of relationships- and with the gender swap- it resonates even more in this era- Waitress is lighter - it is pretty good- but I do not think it will be considered legendary- because it simply is not that great- ti is good- where I would rate Company as great. My opinion.

Definitely hoping to see both of them! I was definitely looking forward to seeing Waitress, especially to see who will be taking over when Bareilles leaves.

I definitely appreciate the overall message of Company, especially with the gender swap and how Patti Lupone had previously won the Olivier Award for her performance!

I'm going to speak up for Waitress. I saw Waitress 5 times in its original run and loved every visit to the diner. The role of Jenna speaks to me like no other. Sara Bareilles' Jenna is amazing -- she's funny, earthy, warm, and can of course sing.

Patti is probably giving a performance that will earn her a 3rd Tony (assuming she hasn’t lost her voice or energy in the long break). I would not miss Company for anything. Waitress is a good show and Sara gives a good performance in her show (which felt more novel the first time she did it but now I find the novelty is wearing off as she keeps coming back?) but Company is life changing (though obviously I am a Sondheim Stan).

Colleen Ballinger not play Jenna when she previously performed ….she played Dawn  plus she is pregnant with twins
