Even though I received a flu shot in October 2019, I got a viral infection (strain of the flu) that took me out for almost three weeks in January. I lost 15 pounds during the process. I was too weak to make myself anything to eat and really felt so bad that I didn't want to eat."
Statistics show that even in cases where the strain of vaccine is not correct, the severity of cases in those who get the vaccine versus those that don't is lower. That doesn't account for every person's case, but on average it's true. You are better off getting the flu shot than rolling the dice and not.

Oh, I 100% agree. I have been getting the flu shot for years and will continue to do so. Whatever I had in January, was one of the worst ailments I've ever had. I think not eating for those 5 days, contributed to the serious of the sickness. I've had the flu before, but never like this.
I initially was a doubter. I am now a believer. My doctor wants to see me tomorrow as he says.I may be infected with the virus. Looking over the symptoms what I thought were signs I had other issues may be connected to Corona .Will know tomorrow

With all do respect to the Mods, they really do seem to pick and choose what they delate and allow, almost randomly. TBH

I wish you the best!!! Stay safe and healthy, hopefully tomorrow goes well.
I do hope, however, this teaches you to stop listening to the current republicans in our Government who CONTINUE on telling us everything is fine and focus on the economy. Because people’s lives don’t matter right? They do, and so does yours Roxy even if we vehemently disagree on politics. I just hope you can see that right now, the Republicans are not taking this seriously at all and it is going to cost many lives, I pray not yours, or your friends, but it might. Republicans are literally toying with lives to save the economy so the rich can get paid. Hopefully you learn your lesson.
Since he probably has me blocked, please tell Mr Roxy that I hope he comes through this just fine and that I am sorry there is an entire functioning apparatus on cable TV and radio to convince people that the truth is a lie and vice versa. And that president*.
In truth, this is the least satisfying "I told you so" of my lifetime. I hate that this is happening. And it did not have to play out this way.

The OP’s message really has aged badly hasn’t it? Like every single one of POTUS’s muddled & incoherent statements on COVID. Wishing you well too Mr Roxy.
Not yet. Turns out our doctor said we probably had it and to self quarantine 2 weeks. This is all he could say as there was no test for it. Dr wanted us to do a test for the antibodies now. Since we never had to do a formal test for CoVid doctor told us to do the test for CoVid now. Drive up to Dr office and staff came out and handed it to us. You have to stick this flexible wire up your nose as far as it would go My nose is constantly stuffed up. I pushed and wife had to push the last 1/3. I was in agony. Have to wait for result monday. If negative we do nothing. If not who cares as I am fed up with the non stop barrage of info on it. The cure is worse than the disease . I am done with it. Thought I was done with it to be told maybe I am.not. Antibody test is worthless to us. For me 2 early cancers and Hep C rule me out to donate.
"The cure is worse than the disease ." The disease is worse.
The antibody test MIGHT confirm you had it and it MIGHT be a sign that you won't get it again. However, since it's only "MIGHT" it's probably not of much worth. Here's to more and better testing available on the scale the country needs.
Has the OP changed their post to cover their odd claims? If I recall, at one time it claimed that COVID was no worse than Flu.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
