Hi! I am hoping to start auditioning for some colleges, and need one ballad and one up beat song. The problem is, well I have a pretty good range, (E3-A5) but my highest note i can belt without straining or sounding bad is a B. I can sing in my head voice obviously, and am working on mixing, but i just dont feel as comfortable with those nights and they sometimes sound airy. Does anyone have any good musical theater audition songs that are not overdone but have a good amount of belting (preferably not over a B)? Can someone please help me asap!? Thank you so much!

Could you just stop with the identical thread posting? You could just "bump" any of the other ones you started. You also dont need threads on multiple boards.

Weekends here are pretty slow, so be patient, and you might get some assistance.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Not sure if all of them are appropriate for a college audition but here are some suggestions:

Up beat:

Don't tell Mama (Cabaret)

Cabaret (Cabaret)

Mamma Mia (Mamma Mia)

One Man (Seven brides for seven brothers)

Sheldon Bloom (Tell me on a sunday)

Ballads:

If he really knew me (They're playing our song)

I'm not that girl (Wicked)

As long as he needs me (Oliver)
