Back at Radio City as well! Hoping for Mulaney to host. Looking ahead at this season Best New Play may not have a ton of competition but every other category is pretty stacked, should be a fun Tony season once again.

I guess this is a conversation for another thread, but since you brought it up:
Why do you say that the New Play category isn't competitive? There are 12 eligible shows as of now, including The Inheritance, Slave Play, Lehman Trilogy, Sound Inside, Great Society, Sea Wall / A Life - all of which have been well-received so far, and/or are the kind of play that could be considered "Tony Bait." And then we have 6 other plays, or maybe more, thrown into the mix (I haven't seen or read enough about the others to guess whether they could get Tony attention, but odds are at least one or two of them are likely to be good enough to be contenders)
I absolutely love John Mulaney, but I'm really hoping we get a female host or a person of color this year. There hasn't been a solo female or POC host since Whoopi in '08, and the only other one this century was Rosie O'Donnell.

Also, I'd love to see Mulaney host!"
Not saying there aren't a lot of good plays, Id just be shocked if The Inheritance doesn't take the cake. Of course, it may not. Heck it may not even be nominated for a Tony, but based on the response from London, id be floored if it didn't win best new play. Just my prediction!
I could really see LMM hosting though. In the Heights film comes out 2 weeks after the Tony's, would be good promotion for him!!
Theres nothing to do but wait to hear when they go on sale. And then buy them. They aren't cheap.
