Why hasn't there been a revival of that old Rogers and Hart show "I;d Rather Be Right"? Why not have Joel Grey play the George M Cohan part as well. He did do George M years ago. He's just the right age now for this show. Cagney did a scene from it in Yankee Doodle Dandy film.
I'm guessing they probably feel a farcical depression era comedy with a dancing FDR as a central character last on Broadway 80 years ago may have limited commercial appeal in 2019. Who exactly do you see as the target audience for this?

The show is very topical. Few people today would understand the references and the jokes.
