Nancy Walker musical from 1985 Sep 9

A Nancy Walker musical would be great if done in the Funny Girl fashion. Homely, unappreciated Jewish girl from Brooklyn gets to play the Big Time on Broadway, it should be a natural, a cinch. Why not?

The best candidate to play the character Ilya would be Jennifer Lopez or Gloria Estefan.
Ilya Darling Revival? Sep 7

I heard there may be a limited run of an Ilya Darling revival. Who do you think could pull it off as the late sultry Melina Mercouri type for this musical of Never On Sunday?
I throw out this idea to you young composers out there. Could you make a musical out of the old play Arsenic and Old Lace? You can have Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters as the old aunts and Nathan Lane as their brother Teddy. I think it would be a hit.
Did you have the fortune to play on stage with the great Mary Martin? Where you a child or young chorus singer or dancer in one of her shows? Could you tell us a story about it? Thanks.
Why hasn't there been a revival of that old Rogers and Hart show "I;d Rather Be Right"? Why not have Joel Grey play the George M Cohan part as well. He did do George M years ago. He's just the right age now for this show. Cagney did a scene from it in Yankee Doodle Dandy film.
That old Astaire and Rogers hit, "SWING TIME" with the best African-American musical actor who could do the Bojangles number and get cheers, not jeers.
With Ali Stroker's remarkable Tony win as Ado Annie in the recent Oklahoma revival, why not have other handicapable actors try for other starring roles? How about a deaf Eliza with her signing her words while a backstage Marni Nixon sings them for her. A blind Mame can be led through her paces on stage with a guide dog to help.
NOTHING will ever get me to replace my old, scratchy original of Oklahoma with Alfred Drake. I don't care how politically, racially, handicapped or sexually correct the new produiction is, it won't sound better to me!
Actually this isn't a bad idea to create a musical about Nancy Walker. She's a Broadway legend. Something similar can be done about her like they did for Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. Just think, young and not so attractive Jewish girl makes it big on Broadway. Any young composer/lyricists out there interested?
Ever wonder what happends to the characters of your favorite classical musicals when the curtain comes down? For example, take The Music Man. What do YOU think happends to Harold and Marian? Here's what I think: Harold and Marian get married and end up having five children, three boys and two girls. With the help of Marian, Harold works hard going to night school to get his high school and college diplomas. He becomes a bonefied certified music and band
I don't know why he is so adament about doing it but I think Howie Mandel would make a great King for the next revival of The King and I. As far as Anna goes, any pretty soprano would do.
To me there is no other KMK cast album than Alfred Drake and Patricia Morrison, the originals and by far the best. If I wish to hear the score again it's this one. I won't waste my money and time on any revival album. Sorry.
