I don't know if it's because I love the show so much that I refuse to see any negative comments, but I think it's a testament to the show, to everyone involved that since the closing announcement yesterday I have yet to see many negative comments. I can let slide the ones talking about how "we saw this coming", "are you surprised"-I guess, even though they're annoying. But I can ignore those. I've seen this musical many times, have one more trip planned so far during the final week, and plan to go back and rush at least two more times. 

Anyway...I love how much love this musical is getting. My heart is broken and full at the same time.

I think it would be a smart move for Bareilles to close the show; sure, a lot of amazing women have played or originated Jenna, but it's Bareilles who's going to be most associated with the role, between writing the show, appearing in it and recording the pop album of songs from the piece. She fits into the decade's zeitgeist of "crossover pop-theatrical works featuring star performances from the artist who wrote the show."

That seems like it could happen...maybe Alison's run would be through mid-October/end of November and then Sara would finish off through the holiday season and closing. It's possible. I see a lot of people who want Stephanie Torns to do it, though.
