I have a question as a newbie.  I've seen Jersey Boys twice.  While the cast in both were outstanding, I am curious as to why the productions were different.  The 1st one I saw was so perfect, I was expecting the same the second time, but was disappointed.  The staging was completely different, there were scenes added that were not in the 1st one, and I knew there would be F bombs, but the 1st had very few and the second had so many it was tiring.  Why would these two shows be so different?

Were they in different theaters?

It must’ve been different theatres. The Broadway, Off Broadway, and Tour companies are all Identical in staging and story.

Same theater - The FOX in Atlanta.  1st time was October 2015, and 2nd time was this past Saturday, 3/23.

The tour has scaled down since. I believe in 2015 it was the 2nd National Tour, this is now the 3rd national tour. They scale down so they can play more houses, than the normal touring houses in big cities. This current tour does a lot of one night stops, so the set is scaled down a bit to accomodate that. Hopefully it didn't ruin the show for you however! I believe there are a couple less cast members in this current tour as well.

Well, that makes perfect sense now, thanks!   It did not ruin it for me, but I was just a little taken aback by the language, as I don't remember it being so bad in the 2015 show.  The scaling down of the cast makes sense now too, as we kept seeing the same actors/actresses in different roles throughout the performance.  I have to say, Jonny Wexler is amazing as Frankie Valli!
