I would greatly appreciate if you guys could help me out by taking my quick 5 question survey about musicals for a college research paper about musicals and the different themes they represent.
Uncomfortable answering a survey outside this site, but I've seen all the shows you listed multiple times. Unsure what theme they were going for as a collective group.
All of them had a love story within its bigger structure. One was guys on military leave looking for a good time; Ham is about founding fathers & their personal lives; WS Story clearly had racial conflict with love stories in it. Hairspray clearly dealt w/racial conflict like WSS dealt with racial conflict. There was more class, cultural, and nationality clashes (revolutionaries were over UK nonsense).
Don't know if that will help, but then I'm not a theater student or in the business.
