I hope so and I hope it's a studio recording not live.

I hope so. There’s a new cast, new song tweaks, and new orchestrations. I’d imagine they’d want to preserve the finished product of something that’s been in development for over a decade. That said, they have been pushing the live recording on nearly every Broadway as I’ve seen. That could be a marketing ploy to generate buzz, but it could also mean they’re content with the recording that exists already.

Didn't Great Comet do this as well? I may be misremembering. They released an off-Broadway cast recording, then a Broadway one, too.

Yeah, but they also had Josh Groban. I think the likelikehood is that we’ll get a recording of the Broadway cast, but I think if not, the reasoning will be that the live recording is solid. Which it is. But I’d like an official studio recording, personally, as well.
