He is primarily known as a choreographer (I loved his work on A CHRISTMAS STORY) and I don't tend to think of THE SECRET GARDEN as a dancing show. I think of it more as a show that has some very intricate, nuanced, and complicated acting, whichwould therefore benefit from an "actor's director". I think this is Carlyle's first time directing a Broadway musical and THE SECRET

Just looking for general recommendations -- I'm down to watch just about anything!
Does anyone have any recommendations for shows accessible to the public (those with a library card who have taken the necessary steps to view these productions, of course!) through Lincoln Center Library? There are so many listings I don't even know where to begin looking!
All of the principal Peggy/Maria actresses, with the exception of the Philip tour's Nyla Sostre, cover Eliza. They just never go on unless all of the other Eliza covers are out because logistically it just makes more sense.
In case anyone was wondering tonight Andrew Chappelle is on as Aaron Burr, Lauren Boyd is on as Peggy/Maria, Hope Esterbrook is on as W3! There might be more covers on tonight but that's all I know of at the moment...

They did it in virtually every category, and while I agree that Broadway was a bit lacking, there’s no reason to include Off-Broadway on a list of Tony predictions."

Couldn't agree more! Miles, keep your ticket and enjoy Darlesia! I've already got a ticket for her 2nd performance, and Lea's last.
So I noticed recently that Manu Narayan is going to be in the cast of "Gettin' the Band Back Together" which will be opening on Broadway next season, despite the fact that he is currently in My Fair Lady.
Why would he leave a show like MFL, which will clearly have a long run, for a show like Gettin' the Band Back together which doesn't seem like it has any legs to stand on?
Also, any word on when he will be leaving MFL? Want to catch the wh
Nathan Lane is going to win his third Tony award this year and that's a fact. None of the other nominees can top his performance.
Also, Jesse Greene thought Springsteen should've been nominated for Best Musical? Is he okay?
Anyone else dislike them including off-Broadway shows in the "should've been nominated" category? I'm all for spreading the love for off-Broadway but they aren't even eligible to win Tonys so why should they be nominated?

Seriously! Brantley thinks Amar Ramasar should have been nominated? Please he was the weakest link in an already weak production.

How do you think the producers of Amelie feel right about now? In a season like this, that show likely would've gotten a fair share of nominations as well as a much larger space than the Kerr."
How do you think Great Comet feels? They would've swept ev

And so we can finally get a Sondheim musical at the Sondheim theatre!
I don't think it will last any more than another year on Broadway. Though I did see the show a week or two ago and it's still a really fun time at the theatre!
(Disclaimer: I've only seen Carousel and The Band's Visit out of those nominated in this category)
I thought for awhile the race was between Tony Shalhoub and Joshua Henry but after reading this thread I have it think it's between Hadden-Patton and Shalhoub.
I think Slater definitely deserves to win, based on how hard I've heard he's working, I don't think the Tony voters will give it to him simply because he's playing Spon
