Tickets for the general public for Hamilton at the Kennedy Center this summer went on sale this morning. I was able to get one orchestra ticket, row T, for $199. Last time I looked, there were 88,000 people in the queue! I was number 8,000 for comparison's sake.
Did you get tickets? I heard a lot of subscribers couldn't during the member ticket period. Share away!
I'm a member and got 3 tickets for June during the member sale. I was really fortunate to get a halfway decent number in their online system. Still a six- or seven-hour wait, but that wasn't so bad compared to some, and there were quite a few members who weren't able to get anything. Also, I ran into that glitch where my date was changed between submitting and purchasing (The Washington Post mentioned this happening to several people), but again I was fortunate and still got a date that worked for me!
From what I can see on Twitter, things are actually going better in today's sale. The line is moving faster. Some people are still encountering the date-change glitch, though.
I’m a member who technically didn’t get shut out the first time but practically speaking, at number 34k, I got in at 8 pm with only $600 tickets left.
I was actually in the air during today’s sale but my I was able to get number 13k and my sister bought me 4 tickets, orchestra CC, at $179 plus $25 in fees.
I’ve seen it in Chicago and will also see it in NYC this fall.
