In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

That makes sense, considering Come From Away's success they're trying for pretty much the same thing. Human kindness, opening hearts and homes to strangers. Copying "viral sensations" never seems to work out very well though but in the current world climate, a story of stranded immigrants fleeing persecution and certain death finding safety in a "strange land" - new culture, language, etc - might do very well.
On a personal note, my (religious Jewish) great-grandfather fled Czarist Russia in 1914 and found refuge in Shanghai. He lived in Shanghai for 3 years, learning English and trade, before emigrating to San Francisco.
So even though it was a different generation, I'd be fascinated to hear / experience the story of the Chinese welcoming the fleeing Jews.
[In a mostly overlooked piece of history, the US was a harsh and unwelcoming place for religious Jews who fled Eastern Europe. Maybe that'll be the next musical :) ]
Saying that Jews arriving in Shanghai in the mid 20th century is the same story as Jews arriving in Chu Chem in the middle ages is almost like saying that Central European Christians emigrating to Vermont in The Sound of Music is the same story as Central European Christians emigrating to Argentina in Candide.
