Hello! I have been a lurker for years but finally decided to make a account today. I was wondering how the seats from the balcony are at the Segerstorm Center for the arts? Also, is Something Rotten a good show to see on tour? My family will be attending. Thanks in advance!

Can't comment on the seats, but can say that this tour is superb.

The cast is stellar, and the set is almost the entire Broadway set, minus some of the house.

Plus, it's a fantastic show.

Have fun!

That theater is huge and I would avoid the balcony.

Thanks for responding! However, it looks like I can only afford the balcony. Its row C so it doesnt look to awfully far (even though it is far) Is sound a issue however?

You will feel very far away in the balcony - so take binoculars.  I saw Kristen Chenoweth in concert from the balcony and the sound was fine.  Are you able to wait until it comes to the Ahmanson Theater in December?  The side seats in the orchestra and mezzanine for $30-$50 are much better seats for the money.

I just looked at it and it looks like im gonna see it at the Ahmanson. I was able to find seats for the same price was closer! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Even though I work only a few minutes from the theater I will almost always prefer to drive to Hollywood to see the tour shows at the Pantages.

The balcony at the Segerstrom is the worst seating of any theater I've ever been to in the barn category. The only is the sound often not very good the site lines are down right horrible. I'm like a regular theater where the balcony is on top of the mezzanine which is on top of the orchestra these are angled.  The only decent seats are closest to the center of the house. The whole far side is potentially limited view.

I can't afford orchestra I sometimes get orchestra loge.

choose your seats very carefully. I have got discount tickets for the orchestra loge off of Goldstar before.

i've not been there in years as I'd rather drive to get a decent seat. Pantages often has very good prices for some of the farther seats. Pantages has better sound and better sidelines from virtually anywhere in the theater.

I figured that the seats would be a little rough cause the price seemed to good to be true. Another option like you stated was the orchestra lodge area for 30 dollars more. I think its the best option to just wait though.

Well I don't care about the show but I mainly go to Segerstrom as well. The last time I went was for An American in Paris which was beautiful. The last two times I went i sat in Tier 2 which isn't that bad of a view.

Saw the tour in Chicago and was pleasantly surprised.  For no particular reason, I had little interest in seeing it, but was glad I did.  An utterly delightful and charming show.  We had a great time.
